The Goggle Box Thread

Best stuff Channel 4 has done for a long time and I include Black Mirror in that. It had an almost Fight club/ visual comic brilliance to the soundtrack and filming. Characters are spot on and a particularly nasty torture scene is very disturbing but darkly funny and handled brilliantly. Well worth a watch and was one of those series where you wished the next one was on straight away and that was after an hour and a half.

Black Mirror was wonderfully frightening.

Just seen that Robert F. Chew, who played Proposition Joe in The Wire died in his sleep on Thursday aged 52.

I am just about to watch The Wire on DVD.

Series 1 Episode 1 tonight... Mrs HW & I are going to watch it all the way through - one episode a week.

It'll be one episode a night once you get hooked!

Hope you are all going to tune in and see my ugly mug on Ripper Street tonight. I'm playing Mr Roach, and look worse than usual as I'm dead for most of it and have a large moustache stuck across my face as well!
I've watched the first three episodes and still can't decide whether I like the series or not, mainly because I can't tell what Matthew McFadden is saying half the time!

I'll be watching. Quite like the series, but the sound appears to have been an issue since it started!

I'll be watching as well. I've quite enjoyed this...not ground-breaking, not fantastic....but good for an hour on Sunday Evening.
Did you have any lines before you died?

I had to scream; "Yes you will, you f****** whore", when I was shooting the woman, but they edited out. Boo!

I quite enjoyed last night's episode. I saw the first one and apart from the nudity, I didn't think it was great but perhaps it's getting better.

And you were the best thing in it, of course!

I enjoyed it Arklo, thought you were fantastic just sitting there even with that 70's porn 'tache, but not even credited, shame.

Thumbs up from me too arklo.
That episode was probably the best one of the series thus far.

BTW, SLA - best reason given for editing, ever!

Yes, I can take all of the insincere flattery you want to give me, so that edit will take some beating.

I think I must have made an acceptble corpse but was not much cop when acting alive.

Mrs HW was very disappointed. Normally those corpses are naked but you had a sheet covering your 'talents'.

She has nominated your moustache for a Golden Globe.

I'm enjoying the celebrity Comic Relief version of G.B. Bake Off. I normally hate celebrity versions of anything, but the people they have on are largely unobjectionable (some seem just downright lovely - looking at you Ellie Simmonds) and it's all very nice and cosy.

On a side note, I made Mary Berry's chocolate log at Christmas - bloody lovely.

Anyone else started watching The Following on Sky Atlantic? I've really enjoyed the first 2 episodes, it's pretty gruesome but kind of like a horror/thriller film as a series.

I'm also watching Breaking Bad and Community for the first time at the moment - both brilliant.
