The Goggle Box Thread

What do you think Booz? I've watched the first 3 now and I still think it's some of the best TV I've seen. Captivating character study.

Watched the first episode last night and yeah, it was as good as season one. Seems like Elliot is even more fucked in the head than he was which I didn't think was possible, plenty of ways it could go from the first episode.

Preacher is fast becoming one of my favourite TV shows as well, I've liked it from the start but it didn't match up to the comics in my opinion, but it seems they've stretched four comics into the first series with shitloads more thrown in. Amazing performances and an amazing storyline which will only get better now the Saint of Killers is joining in the fun!

Eps 2 and 3 of Mr Robot were a bit too weird for me. It needs to get back to some kind of coherent story or it'll just get boring.

I thought episode 3 was a bit on the weird side until I read a theory somebody posted (on the Guardian website)

The theory is Elliot is in prison as you only ever see him in certain settings:

The diner listening to Joey Bada$$ who sells him drugs - this is the prison cafeteria
His bedroom has only poor light, is grey and only has a desk, chair and bed - his cell
Ray's office - Ray is the prison warden and has a sideline in a certain website connected to the dark web he wants putting up and wants to get Elliot to do that whilst he's inside
The basketball game - prison yard
The phone in his mothers apartment, hence him being somewhere he doesn't want to be and in a routine, is on the wall in the hall not on a table or kitchen wall as they tend ot be in American homes.

The confirmation is the psychiatrist visit where she said she was only there because he was her patient previously and alluded to having been made to by the court(?)
The rest of F.Soc have not visited Elliot and have only mentioned him as being alive.

Only a theory but I would expect with the revelations in the 3rd episode he'll abandon this imagery in his head and realise he's in prison and F.Soc will attempt to get him out but not until he's done his work for Ray.

Just watched the finale of season 4 of Wentworth.

Holy crap. What an ending!

Does Bea do someone in for lagging to the warden?

Found Alan Partridge's Scissored Isle on Kodi.

It's awesome :icon_lol:

Preacher - fucking awesome stuff. I think it was the last episode of the series last night and I've been mightily impressed, that's high praise indeed considering it was one of my favourite ever comic series. If you haven't watched it, watch it.

Just found the entire collection of Banged Up Abroad on UK Turks.

See you in the winter. I love this show.

Having never fully watched it before, I recently bought the Max & Paddy Series off ebay on DVD.

Been watching the first few, and while it's not Phoenix Nights standard it's still got some really funny moments. Just about to watch Ep4 now (then commentary straight after).

The guest commentaries are quite good too. Well apart from the Shaun Ryder and Bez one which I switched off after 10 mins. Utter morons with literally nothing to say. Especially Bez.

I've not read the comments but like you Booz I really enjoyed this. Darkly funny and set up very nicely for season 2.

If you go on Book Depository or eBay you can pick up the collected volumes (four comics per book) pretty cheap. If you've enjoyed the show that much I'd highly recommend getting them mate.

Will do Booz. I like graphic novels and I have been downloading the Walking Dead when I have a chance but they're a massive collection!

Just buy them in dead tree format - they have got the lot in Forbidden Planet in town.

They're well worth the read as well even though there's a lot them. Miles better than the TV show.

Preacher ran to 66 issues plus specials.

Absolutely. I would recommend Book Depository.
