Doubt that more than 60% of young people have ever been interested in football
My kids season tickets in the premier league are cheaper than my Dad paid for me in championship many moons ago..I find the whole "clubs are losing money" argument a bit rich, especially from RM when they've paid some stupendous transfer fees and wages, to then say they're going to "save football". Seriously just fuck off, maybe don't spend money you don't have!? Maybe, let Bale go when you get reasonable offers.
The 16-24 not interested is hardly surprising either, when match day tickets cost so much the "dad's and lads" initiation which a lot of us went through which caused us to fall in love with the game is lost. If I'd never been to a live match and only watched on TV I don't think I'd love football as much as I do. It's not just wolves I love, it's football in general - if my dad hadn't been able to afford to take me I wouldn't have had the opportunity. Football is probably unique in this respect, if you give people the opportunity to go they'll come back again and again in many forms, you jack the price up which stops them seeing live games - you've cut off all other avenues too.
How much is your ticket Vs what your dad's was?My kids season tickets in the premier league are cheaper than my Dad paid for me in championship many moons ago..
Yes, it's not the fans (or the players) who are behind this, and they will suffer most from a ban. If there were some way to punish those behind it, that's what I'd like to see.If any of the six wish to pull out then I think there should be an amnesty. All six have already lost the goodwill of supporters across the country, they will pay in other ways. All six have had their reputations shredded by this but if one or two pull out it will start to derail the whole thing.
This is all the 14 remaining PL teams should need to kick the other 6 out.Table without the 6 or results against them
Worth linking? https://www.evertonfc.com/news/2111866Great statement by Everton. Worth reading.
An extra £200 IIRC, thats 20 years later so not that high (or even unexpected). How much is your ticket Vs what your dad's was?
It's the whole cost that's important
Just don’t read the comments!
The "you're just jealous you haven't been invited" comment seems to be coming more and more common all over football twitter.Just don’t read the comments!
Yep, which is exactly the kind of fan the founders of the ESL are looking at as their next cash cow.Fans who seem to be behind this are those that watch it from their sofa and live far away from the club they support.
