Last week the Chairman of Accy told a reporter that when his team wins he gives them £200 to get "McDonald's or the like". The EFL then questioned this as it is not part of the standard player contract, to check it met regulations. The Accy Chairman basically told them where to stick their letter.

It's frustrating because I didn't think we were that far away from rail seating. It makes so much more sense (to me anyway) in terms of safety to have people stood up in a safe area designed for standing rather than an area with limited space between seats. And it would improve atmospheres IMO.

Not everyone wants to stand, but there are genuine sections of support within nearly every club that it would be great for.

I'd like to see a review as to why it's been rejected. On what grounds? Surely it's safer to have designated standing areas like this rather than fans standing in seated areas, which happens in every ground in the country? I don't understand the reasoning behind this decision.

Chelsea and Newcastle probably the only two that look massively out of place, fair play to Benitez on that.

Following on from this:

Sports minister Tracey Crouch – "The answer to dealing with persistent standing is not necessarily to introduce safe standing. There are regulations to deal with persistent standing - I would like to see them enforced."

Methinks Ms Crouch isn't a particularly avid football fan.
