Rooney has retired from International Football.
Looks like he was going to get a call up but turned it down
He never did it for England when it counted. Should've been retired after South Africa
Wrong thread methinks...
Anyone see that article on the BBC about how the FA are thinking of abandoning the 45 mins each way and having 2 x 30 sessions with the time governed by a clock, which stops every time the ball goes out of play?
Don't see why they don't start that now. Leave it at 45 mins but stop the clock when it's out of play.
Something needs to be done. That game on Saturday 19th August Burnley vs West Brom had the stunning statistic of 48 minutes where the ball was actually in play. 48 Minutes!!
There were a couple of other games around 50 mins long and not a single game had more than 65 minutes of football.
Something needs to be done for sure.
Any thoughts?
I'm in favour. Time wasting just kills a games momentum and fans are getting less football.
On Saturday I timed one of the Cardiff keepers goal kicks. He took it almost 90 seconds after the ball originally went out
Well spotted Frank.
The clue was in the last line I suppose!
But whilst you're here Frank, have you any thoughts on my previous post? (#185)
Value for money then....The reason half hour halves have been suggested if the clock is stopped when out of play is that with the current system the ball is only in play on average around 60 out of the 90 minutes.
If you kept 45 minute halves and stopped the clock, games would take three hours.
I think you mean NFL, but yes. 3-4 hours depending on how much the teams decide to put the ball out of play.Value for money then....
Doesn't an NHL game last around 3 hours even though the game time is 60 mins?
That'd mean the guy by me would only go to the loo 8 times per game.If you kept 45 minute halves and stopped the clock, games would take three hours.
