Big trouble at Northampton. HMRC have issued a winding up petition and today is also the deadline for them repaying a £10.25m loan to the council. The loan was issued for building a new stand and a hotel/conference centre, the stand hasn't been finished (or anywhere near) and the rest not even started - but the money seems to have gone. Very dodgy.

What has happened at Northampton. I thought they had big plans for developing Sixfields.

It looks from the outside like they've taken the loan and done a bit of a runner with it. The new stand was a farce - about 500 seats extra to what was already there and exec facilities which made some seats restricted view. It's very dodgy.

Jose Mourinho is really pushing his luck. He has now called his fine by the FA as a disgrace.

Jose is being Jose - He is pushing his luck for a reason. Everyone is concentrating on his behaviour rather than the fact Chelsea have been utter shite so far this season

An interesting one. Cellino is launching an away game boycott in protest of the number of Leeds games that have been moved for TV. He'll only accept 2K tickets for away games in an attempt to hurt other Championship clubs and make the football league take notice.

I kind of like the thought behind it. We've had a ridiculous number of our home games moved recently, it's getting to the point where fans are wondering whether it's worth buying a season ticket if they're only going to get 10 Sat 3pm kick offs a season. The worst thing about it is the hopelessness, the fans can't really do anything if Sky decide to change a fixture at short notice and our club isn't going to do anything to risk losing out on Sky money. I commend Cellino for actually doing something in protest, Sky have run roughshod over football fans for years.

That said, he's going about it completely the wrong way. The only people he's going to piss off are the Leeds fans and Sky wont give a shit.

The problem is if people give up on season tickets then the number of Sky viewers/subscribers will probably go up. It's win, win for Sky.

But whether he's loaded or not, 50K is a fucking ridiculous amount of money when you look at the racism fines the likes of Serbian clubs get.

It's not really down to that - if a game being televised knocks 3-4k off a gate, even if every single one of those missing fans took out a Sky subscription (clearly they wouldn't), it's absolute chickenfeed in the grand scheme of things. Also Sky don't really like televising games played out in front of two men and a dog.

It just needs more thoughtful scheduling from them, we shouldn't be in a position where every single one of our home games in a given month is on TV - that's happened twice in 2015. A couple of years ago, every time (or so it seemed) I got in the pub before our game, QPR were the Saturday lunchtime game. Leeds are always on a disproportionate amount, every season.

As we are chatting about TV scheduling of games and dodgy deals, Shamrock Rovers recently wrote to RTE asking for them not to show any more of their games live, they reckon they are losing €10k per game due to either people not going and watching it at home or because the TV games are at 7pm rather then the 8pm they normally have and logistically people struggle to get from the centre of Dublin to Tallaght in that time, since then Dundalk (who won the league last week) and another couple of teams have rowed in behind Rovers.

It has come out that our old friend John Delaney and the FAI did a deal with RTE (which the clubs are bound to by a collective agreement), for which the agreed figure for television rights has never been published (neither for that matter has the Airtricity sponsorship deal) and Delaney has come out with a wishy washy statement that the sums involved were not a lot and are for the upkeep of the league.

It seems that for the 72 league games a year shown at primetime on RTE on a Monday or Friday the clubs each get the princely sum of €4,000

per season...

Howard Kendall, former Everton manager has died aged 69

Fair play to him IMO. Sunderland fans were giving him plenty of abuse all game, so when he celebrates in front of them they start crying? Serves them right.

No different to Dicko celebrating his goal in front of the Walsall fans and we all loved their whining/crying reaction.

Generally I would agree (fans should be able to take a bit back if they dish it out) but McClean is a moron with a head the shape of a breezeblock and the intellectual capacity of a breezeblock. Complete wankrag of a man.
