What are the chances that Australia will try and force a re-bidding process?

They did that though I think. All part of the review done by the American guy who then quit because FIFA read his report, got rid of the bits they didn't like and replaced it with their own way. That ended any hope of the 2018 & 2022 World Cups being put back out for bidding. FIFA seem above normal law so they make up their own and tough luck to the rest.

Can't see the World Cup happening the European clubs would lose far to much money.

Fuck knows what Sky will be shelling out for live Premier League rights by then, they and the Premier League are not gonna take to lightly losing their jewel in the crown for 5 weeks.

They won't lose them - they'll just start earlier/finish later.

The whole stinks to high heaven - a bid clearly unsuitable has been chosen purely for the £££££, and in no way in the best interests of supporters, players, anything. Quite why those wankers at FIFA appear to be above the law is sickening.

I can see a hell of a lot of International footballers having premature retirement, the best in the World will be on 500k a week by then, will FIFA cover all these losses.

Maybe they'll sell the World Cup rights to Sky and FIFA start paying the players handsomely to take part.

It's all rancid.

Hold on... Isn't it hotter in November/December in Australia?!

Probably work better for them, normally it seems they lose a few subscribers between May and August, cancel in May and join again when the season starts, now a season July to June happy days.

November tends to be rainy season in places like Brisbane and Cairns so there would be some relief. If it was in January then Melbourne could be absolutely brutal - see the Australian open tennis for an indication of that.

Walsall fast heading towards 25k in ticket sales for Wembley.

How many Albion fans are going out for the day?

What happens if a L1 clubs fixtures clash with a home nation game? Are people just going to just have to miss one of them.
Surely they'd have to make their seasons tie in as well. Otherwise a promoted team might have 4 months off and a relegated team be straight back into pre season training

I doubt that would happen. As only the top 2 Divisions take time off for International breaks and League 1 and League 2 will have the potential of increasing gates during the World Cup and more games would be available to show on Sky, so more TV money for them

I declined an invite from a couple of Walsall supporting mates, but I know a number of Villa and Blues fans who are going with them

Sky sign a deal to show the MLS for the next 4 years. Starts next month

Tentatively starts next month. There's a lot of talk of a players strike. So it's all a bit up in the air.

Still, that's tremendously exciting for the league. I hope you lot find some enjoyment in it! Probably mid-Championship fare all told.

Looking forward to watching Doyle going goal crazy and Owen Coyle strutting around the States in his shorts.

Brentford v Blackpool Match Stats

Shots
Total - 42 - 2
On Target - 14 - 1
Corners - 10 - 1
Possession - 74% - 26%

Blackpool did have a player sent off but that is a thumping and a half. 42 shots on goal is insane

28 of them missed the target though. Shit.

Amazing that they only scored 4.
