Trouble is the last Jeremy Irons film about a game was the truly horrific Dungeons and Dragons. I will ask the kids about this when they get back.

Reviews of Assassins Creed say it's awful. There has never been a decent film based on a video game. Apart from Super Mario Brothers of course...

My lad enjoyed the Assassin's Creed film but that might just be an uber fanboy refusing to see it any other way.

Squeeze review: bit odd. no idea what was going on. Fassbender with his shirt off was some compensation.

I enjoyed Rogue One even more the 2nd time around. Even though it looked better in 3D which I saw originally.

I noticed a lot more including several shots of The Ghost from Star Wars Rebels during the big finale.

Deepwater Horizon - better than I expected, managed to balance the drama and the emotion pretty well.

Just watched The Force Awakens again with the kids. It really is ace.

I really don't know which I prefer out of that and R1. I thought it was R1 but I don't know - so many good bits in both.

Watched Sully last night. Wondered how they were going to stretch a 200 second incident into a full length movie but it's a really good watch.

Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart are great and it's absolutely gripping when they recreate the 'landing'.

Just about to watch this one.

Saw Sully with me mam for her birthday when it was first out. Wouldn't have been high on my list otherwise, despite really liking both Hanks and Eckhart. As others have said, couldn't see how they would play out the incident into a feature length film, but thoroughly enjoyed it, some really good performances.
Made a pleasant change to watch a 'proper' film in the cinema rather than superhero/sci fi blockbusters.

i preferred Rogue 1 to TFA. though as i'm not a massive fan of the series i'm probably not the best to judge.

Finally watched Rogue One last night and loved it.

The Force Awakens had more of a wow factor but I preferred the story line in Rogue One. My niggle with TFA is that it is basically a remake of Episode IV. It was awesome to watch at the cinema but I just wish that they'd done something a bit different with the plot.

Captain America - The Winter Soldier

Several varying degrees of meh. Does anyone else find practically all these Marvel films to be decidedly average with very few memorable moments? I want to like them and whilst they're not unwatchable, there's only really been Deadpool that I can say I've really enjoyed.

I love them all, pretty much. Mind you I am a massive Marvel fanboi so that was always likely.

I'd agree with that. Superhero movies tend to bore me a bit anyway though TBH. Deadpool was enjoyable and I like Iron Man and Batman (I have no idea if they are Marvel or not BTW) but in the main they are totally meh.
