The Film Thread

Not long back from seeing fantastic beasts.
Not bad, good family fayre. Redmayne is good. Ending is a little sickly, and didn't feel just over 2 hours long, which is a good thing.
Loads of bits reminded me of ghostbusters in strange ways!

Was it at Wolves Cineworld by any chance?

Finally watched David Brent: Life on the Road last night.

Gloriously cringeworthy and fucking funny. Absolutely loved it.

Just had a gift from Sky. £13.99 to spend in Sky Store on a movie.

Life on the Road purchased, downloaded and waiting to be watched. Also get the DVD sent to me as well.

Got the girls Suicide Squad for Christmas so we'll be watching that Boxing Day.

I watched the Accountant with Ben Affleck t'other night.

Was a decent way to pass 2 hours.

Fantastic Beasts.

Kids loved it, I thought it was just about alright. At least 20 minutes too long though.

Bentley Bridge is a fucking mental asylum today though. The car park completely snarled up by the queue for the McDonalds drive in as bloody usual.

Life on the Road - superb stuff
Sausage Party - was really looking forward to this film but it is utter utter utter utter shit.

The Accountant. Not too bad.
Birth of a Nation. Waaaay too slow and ponderous.

Back from Star Wars. Loved it.

A bit slow to get going for half an hour but once it does it just gets better and better all the way through. Felt like a proper Star Wars film with the links to the original plot too. Better than Force Awakens for me.

Just finally got round to watching rogue one today. Like Bear says above was really good when it got going. Fantastic film, the last scene was quite poignant too.

I have it on 123 movies but mrs cyber has banned me until she can see it with subtitles!

Watching the conjuring 2 now online. Scary

Watched Suicide Squad the other night with the girls. They loved it, I thought it was meh. Jared Leto's Joker was appalling, I suppose it was OK as a standalone for that film but in the context of the Batman mythos it was utter shit. The storyline was standard fayre and their were no real standout performances (barring Harley Quinn who was very easy on the eye, easy enough to keep me watching).

Agreed on Suicide Squad. I enjoyed it enough and Margot Robbie is bloody gorgeous, but the whole thing doesn't really sing.

Saw Rogue One last night. Absolutely brilliant.

Suicide Squad Was definitely a 5/10. Trying too hard, throwing popular songs at scenes and hoping they work.

Honest Trailers did a good one for it, comparing Jared Leto's performance to Ace Ventura.

Watched Sully last night. Wondered how they were going to stretch a 200 second incident into a full length movie but it's a really good watch.

Tom Hanks and Aaron Eckhart are great and it's absolutely gripping when they recreate the 'landing'.

Saw Rogue 1 yesterday. Generally agree with previous posters - good film. Had all the necessary factors in play for a star wars film.
Also liked a couple of bits where the cheese elements were toned down. Made the film better.
Enjoyed the last 15 mins a lot.
Some great scenic moments too.

I'm seeing it again tonight. Taking my brother as he's not seen it yet.
