The Film Thread

I don't know if they count as musicals but The Producers and Blazing Saddles are brilliant. And I do like Little Shop of Horrors. The rest are all meh, no plot and crap acting in the main.

Personally I wouldn't class films like The Producers, Blazing Saddles or Cabaret as musicals.

Through the Never is I suppose a musical. Frankly I haven't got a clue what the plot is about though.

Can we class Zulu as a musical. They all stand there singing "Men of Harlech" as thousands of Zulu warriors attack them...!!

Tickets secured for Star Wars: Rogue One on Thursday night. 3D, obvs.

It's got very decent reviews too by the looks of it. Can't wait!!!

Suicide Squad. Disappointing and only worth a 6/10.

Really looking forward to seeing it. Not sure when though as the family Chrimbo cinema trip is Fantastic Beasts, a most noble substitute but just, not Star Wars, ya nor...

Rogue One.

Stunning. Its better than The Force Awakens. Considerably better than I expected. Just wow.

All the reviews I read from people were mixed and said it wasn't as good as TFA.

Really? Every review I have seen has been 4 or 5 stars and said it was fantastic

I think it's a film made for the fans - Star Wars nerds (like me) will absolutely bloody love it. Others who like a couple of hours of escapism will also really enjoy it.

I read a few more negative reviews who said 'if you took away the Star Wars element, it doesn't stand alone as a decent Sci Fi film' but I'd totally disagree with that. The effects are out of this world (well, literally obvs) but they managed to write FAR better characters for one film than the prequels (for example) managed in 3. It's brilliantly paced and there are numerous planets that are visited without it feeling rushed.

If you hate Star Wars (hi Jinky) then obviously it'd be a waste of time but I thought it was a triumph. Way better than I was expecting and Episode VIII is going to have to do bloody well to top it.

Hope to see Rogue 1 over the holidays. Wouldn't mind seeing Fantastic Beasts too if I can.
And Trainspotting 2 at the end of January will be a must.

I wasn't talking about official reviews, but people that have seen it. Most were positive but a few saying it was a bit of a mess saved by the last 10 mins.

Anyway, I'm off to see it with my mate after the Brizzle game on boxing day now.
