The Film Thread

I've never seen him be good in anything.

Was he any good in Sons of Anarchy ? I never watched it

SOA was weird, some really good bits in it but loads of cringe and it has possibly the worst ending to a series I've ever seen. Plus it beats its own record for the amount of times people can say 'Jesus Christ' inside 50 minutes multiple times over. Hunnam just annoyed me all the way through but it was good to see small parts and cameos from most of the main cast of The Shield.

SoA was up and down for me, but mostly enjoyable. All the early stuff with Agent Stahl was really good.

Will have to go some to beat the ending to Dexter. A superb series but that ending, fucking hell.

A lot of shows have shitty endings. Lost, Battlestar Galactica, True Blood, to name a few.

Never got round to watching Dexter, I've got it on Netflix or Amazon but still just don't fancy it. A bad ending ruins it for me, SoA really was an "Oh you are fucking joking" moment which was made worse by being blatantly obvious it was going to happen ages before. Felt like I'd wasted a fucking lot of time after that.

Dexter is ace. Just ignore the last 5 mins.

Only ever saw the first 2 series of dexter. ought to check out the rest.

Don't read the books though. Dreadful.

The first couple are OK and its from those the TV series uses to set up the show. From book 3 or 4 they get very weird and thankfully the makers of the show dropped using them as a reference

I've read the first one (I think). have to say it didn't hold a candle to the tv series, so never pursued that avenue further.

Game of Thrones has an abysmal ending too. Trite rubbish considering what went on before.

Season 3 and 4 are sensational. The last two series were poor all round for me, the ending just capped it off.

I loved SoA in the main, but again, it should have finished at least a season before it did.

I loved Dexter too but sheesh that last scene.

Watched 'The Darkest Hour' with Gary Oldman last night - physically not quite convincing as Churchill, but mannerisms & speech was spot on.

Historically not totally accurate, but not an unentertaining couple of hours.
