The Film Thread

Well the critics can't have been raving that loudly. I've only heard of Black Klansmann out of all those.

Just watched Jurassic Park for the first time. It's pretty good.

I watched it in the background earlier too. Its a great film, not an ounce of fat on it. And the effects still look good today.

JP1 is amazing - I still love watching it, got to agree with Bear in that it's aged really well. The 2nd is okay, the 3rd is dreadful!

I'd actually say Jurassic World is the 2nd best in the series, though it's light years behind the original.

I don't fancy 2 or 3. Can I just skip to the new stuff with Chris Pratt in?

Yeah. You're not missing anything.

Rewatched Apollo 13 (again) last night - even though I know exactly what happened (& was around to see it live) there is still a palpable tension when they are late coming through the atmosphere on re entry.

A good film

Just watching Spotlight. How have I not seen this before? A truly stunning piece of work. Horrific subject matter but the acting and writing is staggering in its power.

Liked it so much I have watched it twice since, the scale of it all is shocking !

(at the baseball game the real journalists are in the background )

Got Parasite to watch tonight

' dark, comedy thriller ' isn't really my favourite kind of a film, but I'll give it a go.

A couple that I have missed from a few years back and have got round to watching

Chef - wasn't expecting much but a really decent feelgood movie and well acted by Jon Favreau and John Leguizamo, loads of stars in smaller parts as well.

20 Feet from Stardom - enlightening/inspiring documentary on backing vocalists in the music industry

How the fuck did that get Oscars. Utter fucking rubbish.

I thought it was good. Just not Best Picture good.

Certainly not Jojo Rabbit good.

Three billboards outside ebbing Missouri. Brilliant, just brilliant. Can’t believe I waited this long to watch it.

Superb film.

Watched an absolute stinker tonight - Animals on Primer Video. Avoid at all costs. Unrealistic, OTT, terrible script, awful characters, no soul. Complete opposite to what it was aiming to be. The 6.1/10 rating on IMDB is VERY generous.
