The Film Thread

Oh god...

Anyway going to try and keep this on the straight and narrow by adding Blazing Saddles to Paul’s list.

That one I have watched, and enjoyed. I don't think I could name my favourite ever film, it's impossible, the list is endless.

Best Aussie film,
Romper stomper Russell Crowe plays a nazi skinhead,
And I'd go Young Frankenstein over blazing saddles every time

Talk of Australian films and no mention of Mad Max..?

Paddys younger and thinner, inspired choice by the way, the film with more belly laugh scenes in it than any other !
Also God knows how many times I've watched Snatch !

There are two superfluous words in that sentence.

I watch films again because I know I'm in for two hours of enjoyment guaranteed. And it's only if I haven't seen it in ages.

Would that apply to music? Once you’ve heard it you’ve heard it?
Booz - I had spotted that own weakness in the argument too! Maybe it’s an attention-deficit thing (no, not ADHD, just a short attention span) - music is only 3 minutes long, probably couldn’t do a whole album though.

For food, I’ll have the same curry, rice and sides every week, but never get bored of it.

For me it’s just entertainment, if I think a film is really good I’ll watch it again and again (there are plenty I’ve seen countless times), same with books, if it’s good I’ll read it more than once. Each to their own I suppose and if re-watching a film doesn’t float your boat then it doesn’t! The music aspect was more for me I suppose as I’ve heard some songs so many times I really don’t want to hear them again.

This is something I’ve never understood - why would you want to watch a film more than once?

Agree with most - while there are many films I wouldn't watch twice there are some (Shawshank Redemption, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Blues Brothers, Little Shop of Horrors) that I would & have done so many times.

Well, there are four of them, the second is probably the best...

I saw the first one, that was enough for me. I heard the recent one was actually relatively entertaining (well something happens even if it is just mindless action)

Free Solo

Don't know if he's just an adrenaline rush freak or just a nutter, but Christ almighty try watching it without being on the edge of your seat.
