The Film Thread

Seriously mate - it's fantastic.

It’s in the queue. We’ve got to watch Captain Marvel and End Game as well yet, we’re falling behind on them! Cass watched Terminator 1 & 2 with me the weekend and loved them, we’ve moved onto Friday the 13th now, she’s mad on her horror films.

Not seen Captain Marvel yet but I absolutely loved End Game. It helps having Ellie in the house now because she absolutely loves the Marvel films - her mum isn't fussed so I get to take her to the cinema when the new ones come out. My 2 aren't interested in them at all (yet - we'll work on them) but I've seen a lot more over the past few months.

No doubt we'll get that new Disney subscription service as it'll have the whole collection on it. And Star Wars. I'll just have to put up with the flowery musical Disney shite alongside it.

Not sure whether I'll go for the Disney subscription to be honest, I think I'd just rather rent a movie from Amazon than be bound into another subscription. Not saying the content won't be worth it, there'll be some damn good stuff on there, but for how often we'll be watching them it will probably work out cheaper just renting one by one. I asked Cass if she wanted to watch a film the other night hoping she'd say Captain Marvel but she said "Yeah, Friday the 13th III" :icon_lol:

Wife put on the Will Ferrrel Sherlock Holmes film that has just hit Sky Cinema...christ that was shit, no idea what happened after 25 mins as the Sky box was destroyed to try and remove all parts of that film from my house.

I would always use a veto on any Will Ferrell films. Fucking shiiiiiiiite.

I can accept some.....no chance the whole of that film was being viewed though

The only good Will Ferrell movie is the Lego movie. Not even WF could ruin that.

Will Ferrel's best movie is Stranger Than Fiction.

When he stops dicking around trying to be funny he's a really good actor.

Austin Powers and Stranger Than Fiction are also awesome.

I watched Stranger Than Fiction at the weekend. Not at all what I was expecting, but yes it is awesome.

I don't mind films that are daft and stupid, I mean I love Jim Carrey and he knows how to do daft and stupid (he is actually a very decent actor when he wants to be). Sometimes a dumb film is a good watch but christ alive that was beyond awful yesterday

So are we all too cool to admit that Anchorman was brilliant then?

I didnt like Anchorman either. Trying to be too wacky and cool but not actually being funny.
