The Film Thread

Watched Endgame last night. Excellent - a very satisfactory way to end the story. A fantastic spectacle, my favourite Marvel film so far.

Really enjoyed it.

Finally got around to watching Trainspotting 2 last night. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

Watched quite a few films this weekend.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile - very good indeed. Zac Efron is creepy as fuck and I liked the way they presented it from an alternative point of view. Well worth a watch.

Adrift - a Netflix film based on a true story - a couple attempting to sail across the pacific get hit by a storm and are drifting for months as they try to survive. Much better than I thought it was going to be.

The Festival - wow. Possibly the worst film I have ever seen alongside He's Just Not That Into You and Devil's Mistress - I genuinely preferred Noah. An attempt at a comedy, but it's just horrendously bad. All the characters are utter cunts (especially the lead role) and it falls into the crude but painfully unfunny category. And it's obvious that whoever made this has never been to a festival. Do not watch this - absolute dreck.

Avengers - Endgame - see above.

Unsane - apparently, this film was shot entirely on an iPhone. Claire Foy is very good in this as a victim of a stalker. She's committed to an asylum then things get really fucked up. Decent enough.

Cinema night again this Friday, although haven't decided out of Tolkien or Red Joan. Anyone seen either?

As someone who really liked the Inbetweeners, The Festival was a crushing disappointment.

Not as much as the second Inbetweeners movie, but still.

The Marvel films I've seen ranked from best to worst. Not seen The Incredible Hulk or Captain Marvel - I think they're the only ones missing.

I really should give some of them a 2nd watch as no doubt I'd pick up more from them now.

Avengers: Endgame
Avengers: Infinity War
Civil War
Ant Man
Guardians of the Galaxy 2
Black Panther
Guardians of the Galaxy
Ant Man and The Wasp
Thor: Ragnarok
Avengers: Age of Ultron
Thor
Dr Strange
Captain America: The Winter Soldier
Avengers Assemble
Spiderman: Homecoming
Captain America: The First Avenger
Iron Man
Thor: Dark World
Iron Man 2
Iron Man 3

ant man so high and iron man (1) so low...

Swap Ant Man and Ragnorok and you're about there.

Just watched 'The Meg', I like Jason Statham but oh my god that's got to be one of the worst films ever, I didn't know if it was being serious or not !

Brilliant! Glad it's good, recorded it to watch tomorrow.

"Man versus Meg just isn't a fight"

This is the worst film I have ever seen. Honestly. Sharknado is The Third Man by comparison. Its abominable

If you want an action packed movie, go see John Wick 3. Entertaining, and the choreography in the fight scenes, brilliant.

Going to see it in a couple of weeks when my cinema buddy has a week off. I don't have any time off but I'm a world class skiver when 'working at home'.

Went to watch Rocketman at the weekend. I enjoyed this and you can see the influence of Matthew Vaughn in this as the visuals are stunning in places.

Taron Egerton is fantastic as Elton.
