The Film Thread

God is alive and well and living in Brussels. He's a bored unpleasant sleazeball who spends his days creating new annoyances for his toy humans.

So yet another unelected fool in Brussels controlling peoples lives?

Sounds like the TV show Preacher.

Good film indeed. I've just watched it at the cinema this afternoon.

Went lunchtime today to see Stan and Ollie, loved the film and thought the make up was stupendous.

Cinemas have changed a bit since the last time I went (that was to see the Full Monty though :) )

Loved Stan and Ollie. Thought Coogan and Reilly were both superb in their roles but some of the best scenes in the film for me were the ones with the interaction between the 2 wives. They were brilliant.

Lots of HDRips in 'the usual places' and Netflix, I guess.

Polar

All look worth a watch.

Watching Silence of the Lambs for the first time in at least a decade. I had forgotten what a truly magnificent piece of film-making it is. Jonathan Demme's masterpiece doesn't date. It is just about perfect.

Was only saying to the misdus last night I needed to watch that again....top film

Does the video tracking skill scroll from top to bottom of the screen when you pause it at THAT moment? Always did in our student house

I thought it was okay, but with Tayloe and May heavily involved it was always going to be "safe". FYI - There were 3 Live Aid songs in the film but when the film is released on BlueRay etc, the full set is going to be available to watch.

It was safe but at 2 and a half hours there's only so much you can put in.

Shame, I've sent you the extended edition for your birthday. Enjoy :)
No worries, I'm sure the Salvos will find a good home for it. Thanks for the thought though. [emoji848]

There's a deal for a month's free trial with Sky Cinema+Entertainment and 5 months of kids on NOW TV for £5, so thought I'd give it a go as there's a load of stuff on Sky Cinema that I want to see.

So I watched Black Panther and Infinity War last night - quite how I've managed to avoid spoilers from the latter for all this time is beyond me!!

Of the 2, I think I actually preferred Black Panther, which I thought was awesome. Definitely one of my favourites of the Marvel series. I like Infinity War but I barely ever had chance to catch my breath! And I'm a bit fed up of Robert Downey Jnr's irritating turn as Tony Stark. Still, some outrageously good action scenes.

Rampage is one of the worst films I have ever seen. Fucking hell :icon_lol:

I watched The Favourite at the weekend.

It's OK, sharp dialogue but uneven and more than a bit pretentious in places. Coleman is fantastic in it.

Yeah, I thought it was going to be better than it actually was.

I've got the Queen Of Scots films to watch at the weekend, which should be decent.
