The Film Thread

Not sure any gents would agree, but The Greatest Showman is worth going to see. Wouldnt say it was the greatest film ever, but Hugh Jackman is ace in it. For one that is not usually into musicals, I was pleasantly surprised and entertained throughout the film. Thumbs up.

The Snowman. Holy shit.... So bad. Truly awful. 0/10

A shame as the Jo Nesbo book was very good.

Just watched 'Made in Dagenham' - expecting it to be full of 'right on' feminist slogans, but was actually a decent film with a meaningful message

Jumanji - Welcome To The Jungle.........bloody rubbish.

Get Out

One of the best films I've seen it years. Deliciously dark, some brilliant performances, clever plot and a quite genius way of mixing horror and comedy with some subtle b-movie references.

Fantastic stuff.

One of my favourite movies from last year

Only read a little about it, but that Get Out does look interesting.

On seeing TLJ, there was a trailer for Early Man (I love Aardman, so will likely see it), and I have to say Darkest Hour looked good.

Yeah I've seen Get Out, really enjoyed it.

Three Billboards was also top notch

Watched In Bruges again last night (preparing for my city break innit). Not seen it since it was showing at the cinema.

Fucking brilliant film.

Clemence Posey is very nice in that film.

Fucking brilliant film.

I saw it at the cinema when it came out, and I will never forget the entire cinema being in stitches at the scene where they all get high with the dwarf. I looked around and literally everyone was hysterical.

Just watched it, very good :)

Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri

Man, what a great great fucking film, very Cohenesque.

So many great performances, best film I've seen in years.

Agree, great film, and brilliant performances especially Mildred. Loved her answer to the Priest/Father

One slight niggle, the ending. Niggles me a little when a film leaves you like that. Guessing.

I watched Get Out last night. Thought it was very average and full of obvious horror stuff. The entire plot was so boringly predictable. I really struggle with any sort of horror nowadays and I'm afraid this is why.

The best thing in the film was his mate Rodney.
