The Film Thread

Any war movie best list missing The Longest Day, Sands of Iwo Jima, Bridge Too Far, Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Dare is just a little bit questionable...

not to mention The Dam Busters.

Would add Patton, Ice Cold in Alex & Torah Torah Torah to that list

Just (trying) to watch 'The Fly' with Jeff Goldblum

A good short story - overexpanded with a 1980's irrelavent love interest

Half way through & I've given up.

Now You See Me 2. Didn't enjoy this one as much as the first. Also, it's a shame that Daniel Radcliffe will forever be Harry Potter whenever you see him, even with a full beard.

Got Pele to watch tonight. Looking forward to this one.

Enjoy - read somewhere today watching films keeps you healthy somehow - I will have to start watching some myself :icon_eek:

Wonder how that works then Bubbles, as sitting on your arse is anything but healthy! I do love films though, don't watch any TV progs, serials, or soaps, or reality shit. Just watch sports, the rest of the time we watch films :)

Wish I'd read it properly now - something to do with how it effects your emotions which helps......:...... as far as I read

Yeah I suppose they do. They can make us laugh, joyful, happy, cheerful. Unless it's The Deer Hunter. That film always makes me cry and sad. Love it but it plays on my mind for days after. Watching certain films can also lower blood pressure. Or so they say.

When I was a lot younger I'd watch the fantasy films in that highly exaggerated things like Die Hard. As I've grown older I've turned into a morbid old git and like things like Psycho and any other decent horror films. Have watched all the Saw films and still can't follow it properly.

I'll give anything a go really, doesn't necessarily mean i'll watch it to the end but i'll give it a chance. Depends what mood i'm in sometimes as to what I will watch. Watched all the Saw ones too, a bottle of wine helped me get through each one of those :icon_lol:

Just watched the Ghostbusters reboot.

Not as bad as I expected it to be, but still really poor IMO. They made the 4 of them too 'quirky' and they all end up being really annoying. It tries way too hard to be amusing with far too many badly written lines that just aren't funny.

The best things about it are the effects and the cameos from the original cast! I certainly wouldn't recommend sitting through 2 hours of it just for those though.

Warcraft. Best thing about this is the case that it comes in. Far too much saftness going on, and even though it feels a bit Harry Potterish and Lord of the Ringsish ( I love both) still only a 6 from me. The teeth looked utter saft too.

Just caught the last 30 mins of Die Hard on TV. Still a great film.

Fun fact - Bonnie Bedelia who plays Holly McLane is McAuley/Kieran Culkin's aunt.

E4 keep showing it at the moment. I must have watched it at least four times last month (and I have it on dvd...)
