The Film Thread

Grimsby.

One of the most puerile laddish films filled with nob gags I've ever seen. But I'm in a daft mood so I've found it fucking funny.

The bit with the elephants..... Bloody hell. :icon_lol:

It's literally one of the ten worst films I've ever seen. I wouldn't watch it again if you offered me a grand to do so.

You're far more mature than I am though mate. Its terrible, impossible to deny that.

I would! Seriously, it was Sacha Baron Cohen just rehashing previous stuff. Predictable 'humour' and fair play to Mark Strong for putting his career on the line.

I won't ever be subjecting myself to watching it. I can tell I hate it just from the trailer.

Me Before You. After blarting whilst reading the book, watched the film with not so much as a tear. Must be getting a right hard faced cow.

In The Heart of the Sea - a film based on the supposedly true events that inspired the novel Moby Dick.

It bombed at the box office apparently, but I thought it was pretty good. That whale was an angry son of a bitch. An interesting story and whilst not groundbreaking was more than worth 2 hours of my attention.

Anybody seen Child 44 yet? I've been wanting to watch it for ages (yes, I like Tom Hardy) and have finally picked it up. Got a load of films in the queue actually; Civil War, Eye in the Sky, Triple 9, Hardcore Henry and The Raid 2 to name a few.

I've got The Phenom for tonight. Not sure how im going to get on with this one as I really dislike baseball, but really like Paul Giamatti.

It shouldn't matter if you dislike baseball as long as the story is good.

I really liked Moneyball for instance.

Child 44 is a tough watch. It's quite slow but Oldman and Hardy are very good in it.

I don't mind slow stuff if the story, dialogue and acting is good. Reminds me a bit of Prisoners, excellent acting and a strong storyline but very slow.

Definitely about the characters and Russia is painted as very grim. It has a feel of a Robert Harris novel.

Thought this was a cool little list - obvs though I disagree with some of them as is the case with EVERY list ever made ever.

Can't understand the love for Bridge Over The River Kwai though.

The Killing Fields would probably be my number 1 out of all of those. A staggeringly powerful piece of cinema.

The Hotel Rwanda film is not as good when you read the truth of what went on in there !

Why, what happened?

Saw that film a few years ago and thought it was excellent.

Any war movie best list missing The Longest Day, Sands of Iwo Jima, Bridge Too Far, Guns of Navarone and Where Eagles Dare is just a little bit questionable...

not to mention The Dam Busters.
