The F1 Thread

He is a twat but he can always point to his record when he's openly defying his employers. Mourinho does it all the time. Wears a bit thin when things start to go the way of the pear though so he should button it really.

Helmut Marko is the problem. Openly criticising one driver and praising the other, plus undermining Horner's authority.

I doubt Vettel would openly get away with this sort of shit with someone like Brawn in charge. Montezemelo wouldn't like it at Ferrari either.

Horner should have been stronger over the radio in Malaysia tbf (if that's all that was said, of course he could have given him a right bollocking and we just didn't hear it).

I don't understand why Vettel said at the time it was a mistake, he appologised. And now roll forward a few weeks and he's saying he doesnt feel bad and he did it for revenge. :icon_rolleyes:

He apologised because he was unsure of the fans and team's reaction. Now he's been dealt with internally and a lot of fans have backed what he did, he obviously feels he can get away with owning up to not giving a shit.

Deutsch - If he'd have had a bollocking on the radio it would have been on the pitlane channel and someone would have heard it. All communications have to be open to the race director.

Ah, I didn't know that, I just thought we got a selective edit. So I'll stand by that, Horner should have ripped into him, "Seb, this is silly" isn't really good enough if you're trying to promote equal driver status (we know they aren't, but they like to make out they are).

The live feed does get a selective edit chosen by the TV director. But you can choose the pitlane channel on Sky interactive and listen to all the radio feeds. I'm not sure if that gives you absolutely all of them but it's a lot more.

Has he said more than is in the article on the beeb website?
It does suggest a distinct lack of class/respect.

Interesting comment from Webber at practice this morning. Makes it entirely clear that Helmut Marko is a major part of the problem

Well

Reporter asked something about Marko, can't remember the exact question but it was to do with Helmut being all palsy palsy with Vettel throughout free practice 1.

Webber had a long pause, looked like he had stepped in a dog turd and said "well, that's just Helmut isn't it?" He really looked totally pissed off. Quite obvious that Marko is in the Vettel corner and Webber is fighting against that.

Well Q3 was shit! Should be an interesting race with the Options only lasting 5-7 laps.

James Allison on his way to Ferrari after leaving Lotus.

Lets see if Mercedes are moving chicanes after three laps again then.

More than likely, is it purely down to tyrewear that they are so much slower in races? or just the car isn't consistently quick with fuel in? Must be frustrating for the drivers to slip backwards every Sunday, still better to be in Mercedes position than McLaren's.
