I still think Red Bull will dominate in Malaysia. Testing showed that the Red Bull's eat their tyres up in colder conditions and that's what we got in Australia.
They will certainly have less deg in Sepang so should have much better race pace.
Very tasty end to that race! Vettel being very cheeky and then trying to make out he didn't ignore team orders deliberately. I'm sure Webber will be looking for payback at some point this season. I certainly would, especially with only a one year deal with RBR.
Worked put for me though as I stuck £20 on Vettel to win after the last GP.
Rosberg probably had better reason to take the place from Lewis since he didn't have the fuel issues that Lewis did.
It does look like Seb was a naughty boy regarding teammate racing, but that bit of action was brilliant to watch. Webber is going to be ROYALLY pissed at him for the rest of the season though.
Was it entertaining though? I thought it was a pretty damn decent race, and it has set up Webber versus Vettel forever by the look of how annoyed Webber was and his comments on the podium. Disappointing that Hamilton was allowed by his team orders to keep third though.
I really want to see the two Red Bulls go hammer and tongs now. Webber will NEVER obey a team order again I reckon.
Shame we lost Alonso so early. He might have been involved.
Not particularly. Very little action at the front, with Vettel passing because he's ignored a team order and therefore has an advantage over Webber.
We're not going to see another Hamilton/Alonso scenario as Webber isn't a patch on Vettel 90% of the time.
Either we have these tyres and no DRS or vice versa. There's no advantage to chasing after your rivals if you're going to kill the tyres in two or three laps. Raikkonen sat off the Vettel/Alonso/Massa last weekend and reaped the rewards. Great way to encourage racing.
Clumsy from Alonso, bizarre not to pit him immediately but he wasn't going to be a feature either way after turn two.
I'm excited that we've got Red Bull, Ferrari, Mercedes, Lotus and eventually McLaren looking relatively closely matched, and it would be a grave shame for the tyres to become the predominant factor as to who comes out on top. I don't expect I'm alone in wanting to see Hamilton, Alonso, Vettel, Raikkonen, Button and co going at it every weekend, which looks possible this season.
Agree about the tyres, Nando, I had my reservations last season about them and this season it looks worse. What's the point of having all these drivers if they aren't allowed to drive as fast as they can at all times? Having said that it wasn't terrible on the tyres today, just meant more pit stops, Hamilton/Rosberg were still pushing when they could but it does look like Red Bull would be off in the distance with tyred that didn't degrade. I also don't like having 2 DRS zones in a row as it just leads to someone being overtaken and then taking the place back every lap which is pointless. I get the team orders thing and Vettel has shown himself to be a Schumacher-esque tit today, interesting to see what happens for the rest of the season. I thought Mercedes probably should have ;et Rosberg take Hamilton but I wonder whether it's more to do with him being their number 1 and trying to maximise his points tally this season which makes sense imo. Oh and not bringing Alonso in was a baffling/stupid decision, if they were waiting for slicks it would have been another 6 laps until it was dry enough!
