Confirmed unfortunately.

At least she is still with us.

Yes, I suppose it could have been worse. Let's hope she can recover and is out of hospital soon.

It might be a tough road back to racing with limited depth perception.

Losing an eye doesn't permanently bar you from racing as long as you pass set requirements. I recall Derek Daly's brother Viv had one eye and he was a decent wheel jockey. MSA rules state that if Maria ever wants to get back behind the wheel competitively she will have to wait 5 years. But I would imagine Maria's domestic licence will be with the RFEA so I have no idea what their regs will be - possibly the same as the FIA which my quick check states a shorter ban of two years minimum.

I know I'll sound like a fanboy (again) saying this, but all the Ferrari drivers are worth following on Twitter, they post some excellent stuff with regards to their everyday life.

For example, Fernando has posted his physical training since Valencia:

-724 Km bike (28h)
-53 Km run (4:30 pm)
-6h Swimming
-2h gym
-10h (tennis, football, etc)

Bloody hell!

Similar to mine

I watched some bike riding
I watched someone run
I will admit to not watching the swimming
I looked at my gym membership
I watched Wimbledon

Feel the burn

REMEMBER:

PAIN is just WEAKNESS leaving the body.

Stalker.

This is what you call quick reactions (starts at 20s):

I wonder what he was more pleased with, that he held the skid or that he managed to overtake about half-a-dozen cars?

What's the weather looking like for Sunday? Not looking forward to sitting in the pissing rain with the cold I've got at the moment.

Are you there now?

Aaaahh right, have you decided where you plan on watching?

I'm going tomorrow and we could have a months worth of rain.

Just for tomorrow?

It pissed down on the Friday last year, so the F1 cars only came for about 10 minutes at the end of each practice session.
