Hamilton back on pole, Russell has a horror show in 18th.

Max will be getting a 5 place grid penalty for the Belgium GP this weekend. Will of course make zero difference to the outcome of the race and should be back in 1st place by the 3rd or 4th lap

A lot of rain expected over the 3 days so might mix things up a little bit. Sprint race weekend as well, so quali for the full race will be this afternoon

I imagine it'll be like candy from a baby down the straight after Eau Rouge on every lap once DRS is enabled.

Do it without DRS. They really need to get rid of it now the cars can follow better.

As long as they avoid the farce of a couple of years ago where they drove behind the safety car for a bit and they declared Max the winner

If no Quali possible this afternoon the grid on Sunday will be the decided by the Drivers Championship order.

With the 5 place pen for Max, Perez will be doing a rain dance as he would have Pole ahead of Alonso and Lewis

There is something infinitely depressing about lines like “even with the grid penalty Verstappen is expected to easily win Sundays race, such is the superiority of the Red Bull.”

The last season and a half have been utterly shit non competitive procession bore fests.

Most of the last decade has been.

Max was competitive against Lewis for much of the time and Rosberg and Hamilton were allowed to race each other.

This is shit and pointless even watching it. I have binned it off and I’m not alone.

It was fine until after the first set of pit stops and Verstappen getting past Perez. Then the race just died a death.

This season could have been quite exciting if you discount Max, with Aston Martin, McLaren, Mercedes and Ferrari all fighting it out up front, and the back runners are all pretty close too.

Red Bull's dominance has just made it tedious though. Mercedes really shit the bed with their development ideas the last 2 seasons, after having the best car for ages.

Not Red Bull dominance really. Just Max dominance.

Perez has 2nd place but again Max could have come in for another pit stop and still won.
Would be better viewing if Perez was pushing him, like we had with Nico and Lewis during the Merc era.

What is going to do? Sue Timo Glock?
Its around the Renault cheating that season. They believe if F1 had taken action when they knew he would have won the title (no clue how they know that). F1 had always stated they didn't know about the cheating until after the season ended but Bernie Ecclestone was missing the attention so said they knew and ignored it.

Would think if his lawyers are taking this action they think it isn't.

Initially it seemed they wanted the result of the Championship over turned but now it seems to be more about the money side of it.

He lost a lot of points in that Singapore race and he's arguing that cost him the title because the FIA didn't act soon enough.
