To be truthful the only driver that would be genuinely competition in red bull 2 would be Hamilton and that is beyond unlikely.

Reports suggest he has impressed RB with his work on the simulator and they wanted to get him a car again to test him properly.
If Perez continues on his run..5 or 6 races now off the Podium...he will be gone. Danny Ric would then be an option if he shows anything in the AT.

It doesn’t matter this season with Max winning every race but they can’t have Perez finishing 6th and lower regularly if we ever get to the point where another team is able to get wins.

I guess if you go out in q1 you’ve got extra new tyres for the race?

Teams don’t tend to use softs in the race anyway other than SC or fastest lap. So going out in Q1 you’ll just have an extra fresh set of mediums which isn’t really going to change anything.
