So poor so far. Very narrow, very static. England are a very predictable and easy team to play against unless some individual quality lights up the game - quite similar to France. We desperately need some width and a proper focal point.

Rather concerned now that we may end up not winning the group. If we are on the 'wrong' side of the bracket we are in big trouble.

I honestly think Gordon is the one that would change a hell of a lot. Don’t really care who he takes off but get him down the left so we can actually use both flanks and stretch them a bit

Tripper at left back is as big an issue as any. Slow, ponderous build up where attacks go to die. He and Foden are both out of position out there on the left.

He can, but he won’t because he’s far too safe.

Energy was much better after the first 20 minutes but there’s a chasm in the centre of the field and we’ve failed to give the ball to Saka in space to go at the already booked full back. Gallagher is a waste of a player in a game whereby you’re controlling possession.

Lots going down the left but it’s easy to defend against as we’re never going to go on the outside.
