The Definitive TWF Wolves XI Thread (1970 - present)

Another one for the 'grey vote'

Hibbitt
Bailey

(to be played as a pairing)

Rae
Cameron
McDonald
Henry

Surprised by the number of Geoff Thomas votes. The most excited I've ever been by any Wolves signing, but through no fault of his own falls into the 'what could have been' category for me.

He's with Huddlestone and Marsden for me. Top class but only a handful of games.

Kenny Hibbitt
Mike Bailey
Alan Sunderland
Danny Hegan
Steve Daley
Paul Cook

Sorry for the delay in getting these results up.

Bakary Sako - 72
Matt Jarvis - 62
Dave Wagstaffe - 30
Robbie Dennison - 18
Mark Kennedy - 16
Steve Froggatt - 11
Steve Kindon - 1

Wagstaffe got as many first place votes as Jarvis and only two fewer than Sako...but nothing at all in second or third place so ends up lagging way behind.

Byproduct of the age range on here.

If you had seen Wagstaffe then he was an obvious first pick - if you didn't then he wouldn't go in at all.

Jarvis & Sako were nearer together in time so more will have seen both & you are likely to have both in your 3

For the 2,312th time, I do apologise for being born when I was :D

For what its worth as the grey vote is heavily outnumbered

Mike Bailey
Willie Carr
Steve Daley
Geoff Thomas

and

Alex Rae
Colin Cameron

Can't believe that you've omitted Kenny Hibbitt, Vic...

I think if we were all the same age then Parkin, Munro, Hibbitt, Wagstaffe, J Richards, and Bailey would all be shoe ins. The love for Jim McCalliog has surprised me as he's not someone that is usually spoken about too much, although in the early 80's there was still the odd Jim, Jim, Jim McCalliog chant so I suppose that says a lot. I guess I'm tainted by the later Geoff Palmer.
Assuming the 'grey vote' goes to King John in the first instance I'll be interested to see where they go Bully vs Dougan

Geoff Thomas
Colin Cameron

Man we've had some shit cm's

Bull v Dougan

Saw both (though more of Dougan than Bull)

Would still put Bull ahead on goals scored per game ratio which was superior even allowing for a disparity in leagues - ultimately that's a primary job for your CF

I simply can't believe that Bully's place would even be up for discussion. Crazy talk.

Kenny Hibbitt
Karl Henry
Dave Jones
Willie Carr
Hugh Atkinson
Campbell Chapman :icon_wink:

Quirk will fall out with me again when he sees I will put Bully in 2nd place.

I think I put him in as a right sided mf If I didn't I should have done :surrender:

It doesn't matter if you pick him... If he doesn't get the spot in the XI you can pick him for his natural position and it's not too late to put him in :goal:

Conservative style illegal harassment of voters here.
