The Definitive TWF UK & Ireland XI (1970 - present) - ST VOTING OPEN

I've gone for Gazza, as he was the player who made me get out of my seat the most. Absolute legend, one of the most naturally skillful players I've seen pull on an England shirt, and it's a real shame to see what he's become. His goal v Scotland in Euro 96 is probably my favourite goal of all time.

Agree about Gazza - he was easily my number 1 choice. Though I'd go for his semi final free kick for Spurs v Arsenal as my favourite Gazza goal. THAT commentary too.....

Granted I'm a few years older than some of you but Hoddle as a player was superb. As a man, manager, commentator he's a complete tosser.

The death threats I've received via PM's aren't warranted though.

Agreed - they should be followed through with.

Gazza
Scholes
Gerrard
Bryan Robson
Roy Keane
Lampard

He'd never play central in a midfield two tbf, that's why I left him out.

Suppose it depends whether you're attempting to pick a team that works on paper (or would work on the pitch), or whether you're going for your favourite players (which is the criteria I'm using and why I was the only one to pick Ugo Ehiogu in defence). If you don't pick Gazza or Le Tiss in central midfield you don't pick them anywhere and I'm not doing that!

As a kid I used to try and copy these in the back garden (Phoenix from the flames style).

Paul Scholes
Roy Keane
Frank Lampard
Steven Gerrard
Michael Carrick
Dele Alli

He's a more logical pick up top than in a midfield two. Just further evidence that you know FUCK ALL about football. FUCK. ALL.

Matt Le Tissier is not, was not, and never will be a forward. He was an attacking midfielder, you absolute melt.

Gerrard
Lampard
Scholes
Keane
Alli
Dier

Dier?! Top six midfielders in the last 47 years?!

Show your workings please.

Well I didn't see Gazza play, that's why he isn't in. And I couldn't really think of anyone for 6th so why not.

Don't listen to Del, he thinks Seamus Coleman is the second best right back from the UK and Ireland in 47 years.

Alright Incey, settle down.
