On to central midfielders then. Six picks as two go through - I'll leave it up to you if you want to pick your top two as a pair that could actually play together in reality. If you're a purist then you will ;)

Mods, title, appreciated etc.

As much as I love the passion that you errr...senior folk hold for that era, I do find it amazing that these 70s Wolves players were proper world class and yet we never got near winning the league and they hardly won any international caps between them. At a time when England were shit as well.

I mean I'd stick Alex Rae down if this were just a case of "which central midfielder do you love most in the world". Because I do love him. But I haven't.

Don't worry, there will be a chance for you to express your love for that Wolves era up soon.... :D

I've gone for Gazza, as he was the player who made me get out of my seat the most. Absolute legend, one of the most naturally skillful players I've seen pull on an England shirt, and it's a real shame to see what he's become. His goal v Scotland in Euro 96 is probably my favourite goal of all time.

Le Tissier gets in there (as an attacking mid) because of some of the outrageous goals he scored. Absolutely loved him as a player growing up and remember attempting to re-create some of his goals on the football pitch. Surprised others haven't gone for him.

He'd never play central in a midfield two tbf, that's why I left him out.

Ditto (not sure who I'd have left out to accommodate him anyway).

The way Sniffer's mate Hoddle treated him with England was disgraceful.
