Hendry included because of how bloody good he was for Blackburn but also because I've been to his family's florist shop. Very pleasant people. I never really understand this argument, it reminds me of the Harry Enfield sketch that they showed again at the weekend where the Liverpool team takes on a team from the turn of the 20th century. If Matthews was the best of his generation of course he would have still been at the top of the game today, he'd just be quicker, fitter, stronger, live a different lifestyle, not play on bogs of pitches, wear heavy cotton kit or ankle high boots etc. The same goes for any of the greats, the exception potentially being 5 foot 8 centre halves or keepers, but again today they wouldn't be 5 foot 8 so even that really is a red herring
