The Darts Thread

In my life I've never seen a champion in a sport so dominant yet so hated...

Is Taylor hated?

Michael Schumacher?

To be fair Quirk it's because he's an absolute bellend. When i was younger i loved him but the older i have got and the more i have watched and listened he just comes across as a horrible man

Same in a every sport, the more you dominate the major trophies the more people will hate that person/team. Obviously magnified these days with Social media.

Twenty 180's in the match between MVG and Whitlock in 16 legs. MVG averaging 105 despite missing nearly 20 darts at double.

Watching the UK Open Qualifiers in Wigan and MvG has just hit two nine darters in a 6-2 win.

So Phil Taylor manages to snatch a draw against Kim Huybrechts last night and then refuses to let him sign the board in his silly post match ritual.

UK Open, 53-year-old delivery driver from Black Country, Paul Hogan, has beaten Adrian Lewis

Beat Gary Anderson last night too, he was dynamite. Averaged about 110.

Nice to see a player smiling and enjoying themselves. Although had Anderson's dart at bull not fell out it would have been a different story. Not a fan of Unicorn boards.

BDO player too, got beat by Durrant in the second round this year.

He's an Albion fan, lets hope he gets beat then.

Just switched on the darts and noticed that one of the scorer/markers is a lad I used to go to school with. In fact he was my best friend for years up to my teens. Funnily enough I saw him in my local Rileys playing darts a couple of years ago.

Oh Peter Wright. 10-9 up against MVG in the final of the Premier League, and misses 6 darts at a double for the match. Wright is almost on his knees and MVG predictably hammers him in the last deciding leg against the darts and wins.

Such a shame because he played really well. But you have to close the deal. He was never winning the final leg after that.

Pressure definitely got to him IMO. His only win in the UK open was without MVG and Taylor, and I think that probably plays on his mind in moments like that, even subconsciously.

Incidentally, I can't believe how fat is John Part nowadays! Absolutely massive belly on him.

Yeah, big time. Although he obviously should have won tonight - I never fancy him in a TV final. He's lost quite a lot of them now and it must take a mental toll.

Was looking forward to the MvG vs Taylor match. But the crowd and Taylor being a cunt has ruined it.

Big slide this year for Adrian Lewis. Not qualified for the GSOD.

Other notable absentees: Both Huybrechts, Thornton, White, Beaton, Van der Voort, Van de Pas
