The Darts Thread

Danny Noppert has got some serious serial killer eyes.

Very impressed with Noppert. Killer finishing. He'll be in the PDC before too long IMO.

Waites not exactly 100% magnanimous in his interview suggesting he didn't get beaten by the better man and it was more 50/50, and he just never got his game going soon enough. Can't agree with that. Noppert scored well and out-finished him.

Not seen the match as I was out, but was very impressed with Noppert at the GrandSlam where his finishing in a match against Gary Anderson was nothing but clinical. He lost that game but at one point he was 7/7 on his finishes which were keeping him in the game. He was 3-1 to win the tournament at the start of today doubt you'll get anywhere near that now.

Women's Final are the score boards have gone blank. Very amateur.

Bad day for Fitton. Knocked out 5-3, and Durrant has cost him £2500 with a 170 finish.

Hughes getting a bit of a tonking, although he has just pulled a set back. Losing 4-1

Good solid match, competitive too. I suspect both players could compete to a decent level in the PDC.

If Noppert can up his scoring a bit and hit more 140/180s he'll breeze into the PDC.

Durrant looking like he's going to run away with it at the moment.

Taylor says he's retiring after this year, I'll believe it when I see it.

I said at Christmas, if he gets stuffed in the Premier League he's gone after that.

If he gives up the competitive then he will make a mint from exhibitions. As far as I can remember he just doesn't do them, and never has I don't think.

He says the Worlds will be his last ranking tournament, he might do the Premier League after that (that isn't going to work for more than one year though, Sky won't keep giving him wildcards if he isn't playing anything else).

I am pretty sure he'll backtrack at some point during 2017.

He's upping sticks and moving abroad Paddy. He has a posh house in Gran Canaria I Think.

I've seen Taylor at a fair few exhibitions in the past. Never been approachable like other players though.

I think it's just a defence mechanism from Taylor. He knows he's rapidly going downhill but probably doesn't want to give up just yet. By saying he might retire it gives himself a pre-made excuse and out if he suddenly starts getting beaten too easily.
