The Cricket Thread

Wasn't there once an occasion where varnish had melted on the bails in very hot conditions and welded them to the stumps, and even though the wicket was broken the bails didn't come off? Or is that just a bit of folklore?

Not sure, but there have been several instances where the wicket/wickets have been hit and the bails haven't been dislodged, so keep going...

Great catch by Stokes to end the innings and Root ends up with more wickets than Jimmy.

Think we'd all have taken close to parity at start of play with them 61/1. Shame we had to watch Australia's shit cricket along the way.

Piece of brilliance by Stokes on the boundary to catch Cummins. All out with a lead of 12.
Will miss it tomorrow watching the wonderful Wolves 🙄

Definitely happy with that after losing the toss. Shame to have to watch cowards’ cricket but we finally flushed that shit away and they’ll regret such filthy nonsense when it comes to chasing a score on an older pitch.

How dare you, that's proper cricket and proper batting you're dismissing there young man.

Pity the tail outscored more than 5 or 6 of the men above them... &5 runs or something?
Bollocks...

Took Australia almost twice as long to get a total similar to what England did.

They have to bat fourth. We are without Mo with the bat by the sounds of it. 50/50 game.
We've bowled much better than them, I'm not against BazBall but let's not be stupid and try driving shortish balls two foot outside the off stump. It's still a good batting pitch, with a bit of cop on we can get 300+ tomorrow and put them under real pressure.

Pretty much sounds like you are.
