Broad is a legend a proper big game performer. Take your pick how many times he’s torn through an opposition and won a game. Trent Bridge 2015 v Australia is still the standout.
With the state of this game England could’ve got an extra 50 but setting 375+ in a 4th innings is a huge target to chase down.

Yeah, Broad said he only made the decision last night. That will have been in the vault for a while, and topped up when required (like the 600th wicket)

There will 100% be one ready to go for Jimmy too when he hangs them up

He’s proven me wrong with how the last few years have gone. I wasn’t his greatest fan but he really worked at his game to change from being a streaky bowler into one that performs almost constantly in all conditions.
Huge boots to fill with some more vacancies in the bowling department coming up before long too.

He clearly had the talent when he first arrived on the scene but he’s worked so hard to keep himself fit and at the top end of international cricket for so long. It’s been a privilege to watch him and Jimmy for so long

Difficult to replace Broady. Intelligent, committed, aggressive, skilful, with plenty of character also.
Seems a genuinely nice, modest bloke as well.
Just watched a recording of his retirement interview with Sky on YouTube. Absolute class.

Hardest thing to replace will be his character and ability to stand up to anything.
Really hope he gets a few tomorrow and ends having never been beaten at home by Australia.
