The CHRISTMAS Thread

If you're looking to buy mincey pies, Lidl is the best I found so far. M&S are a massive disappointment.

Tried that Eat Yorkshire Pudding wrap.

The filling's really nice, and the Yorkshire's actually quite good too, but that's maybe the greasiest thing I've ever eaten.

The one from Lidl?

Would it really serve 6?

What is the correct thing to do if, as and when carol singers come to your door? Do they expect money, mince pies or are you just supposed to listen and then say thanks?

Christmas Jumper anyone?

Has to be performance related imo, if they're really good then a wad of cash, if they're ok but don't make your ears bleed then a mince pie, if they're shit then tell em to do one....maybe join a community choir where they can hide their shitness

Don't open it.

Is the correct answer.

I actually haven't seen carol singers door to door in 20 years. Maybe I live in the wrong places. Or the right ones.

I saw some at Wolves station a couple of years ago and they were pretty good, and it was for charideee, so I chucked a couple of quid in. I'm all heart.

However anyone who comes past my gates and on to my drive, trick or treaters, carol singers, door to door salesmen, utility company switch spivs, whoever, you do so at your own risk. You'd better make a good case very quickly.

The match last Xmas when we did pre drinks in The Goose, there was a really decent carol choir outside the Northbank.

We get carol singers here every few years I reckon.

Don't research the aldi salted caramel mince pie - it's an abomination.

I am going to have to disagree here. I love them!

Opened a box of them last night and they are the best mince pies I've had so far. The pastry is good, the mincemeat is good and the salted caramel just makes it better.

Well, now I'm gonna have to get some to find out. It doesn't sound like something that's gonna fly with me tho, tbh.

Gates? Drive? Get you, Jacob Rees-Mogg! :icon_biggrin:
