The CHRISTMAS Thread

Yeah. Set Susie up why don't you.

She loves Xmas and I hate it, abhor it

Happy to engage in debate with someone who is open to change and is not likely to respond in bile lol

Ok ppb

Ask me five Christmas related questions and I promise an honest answer.

Christmas question time for Cyber, question 1, will there be a Christmas tree decorated this year in the Cyber house?

Question 2, will you be attending a Carol service, Midnight Mass, or any other church service this Christmas?

Question 3, would you be upset if you got up Christmas morning and no bugger had bothered to send you a gift? Not even a pair of socks?

Question 4, best Christmas you have ever had and can remember. Even Cyber must have had one.

Question 5, if the local children's home, or children's hospital ward was in desperate need of a Santa Claus, would you be willing to play the part for one day?

Yes. But it's very small. We have an English bull terrier puppy and an Xmas tree with baubles would be too tempting lol!

No

I was ordained as a humanist minister in 2002 incredibly! So me and churches tend to keep clear of each other.

Xmas 1976. I was bought a cassette recorder. Loved it. Only good present as a kid pretty much!.

Absolutely. As a 6 foot two 16 stone chap with a booming voice and laugh I have played santa ! Just because I hate it doesn't mean others have too especially children !

You say you have no kids this year, no visits, no in laws, you hate Christmas, your wife isn't too keen either and you have a puppy. Why bother putting a tree up?

Is a humanist minister one that doesn't believe in God but can still marry and bury people?

My wife loves whatcshe calls " pretty lights"

We had one of those for my step dad, she was lovely. Unlike the 'proper' minister that did the service for my dad. I could have cheerfully rammed his religious words up his arse. Mind you, I was 14, and angry.

It takes the dogma out of ceremonies and enables it to be a celebration of life or marriage or in some cases of life to come in a naming ceremony that replaces a christening. I have lots of time for it.

I do too. There's something quite romantic about sitting in the dark, watching tele, with the pretty lights twinkling, whilst sharing a bottle of something with your other half.

We love the Netflix fire program. We have the log burner going and the program of a lot fire on the telly and chill cuddling the dog. He loves it. Jules has lights everywhere. I have wired my whole garden 150 feet with sparkling lights. We have 4 fire pits or chimineas and a hot tub and spend many an evening out there with one of the fires burning before hitting the tub
