The All New Alan Partridge Thread

Its based in Norfolk, Ohio.......

Alan is unable to work for the Beeb anymore after he shot dead Forbes McAllister and assaulted Director of programming Tony Hayers.

I do breast stroke, imagining the water as the face of my dead mother.

Hahaha.

FLYING AIDS.

I thought it was decent. A few laugh out loud moments, but probably suffered from high expectations.

7/10.

Agree with that. The bit in the swimming pool had me in bits though :icon_lol:

Certainly not as bad as it could have been - it wasn't like the dreadful Red Dwarf special on Dave a few years back.

I liked it, i too thought the swimming pool bit was genius, as was his on going arguement with the Range Rover salesman on his test drive.

I haven't watched it yet so shut the fuck up cockends

Urrrgghhh it was dreadful.

Yet on the back of that they are making a new Series!! They really should have stopped at Series 6.

I'm still willing to give the new series a chance, but you're right - it was never the same after Rob Grant left at the end of series 6.

I will watch the new stuff.

The Series after 6 were "ok". I found going back to watch them after a few years they were funnier than I remembered but nowhere near the level of the previous stuff. Hopefully they have put some time and effort into the new series as the Dave Special was utter tripe.

The new series is in front of a live audience which I think is a good thing. Early reports say its a LOT better, but they're hardly going to say the opposite, are they?

Series 7 & 8 had their moments, and the plots were pretty good (Ouroborous is a brilliant concept and the JFK paradox in Tikka to Ride was good) but it wasn't anywhere near as funny. B

Partridge is a slow burner IMO. I loved the chat shows from the off but wasn't blown away by I'm Alan Partridge when it first came out which seems incredible now. I also remember feeling really dissapointed with the second series aside from the 'Dan!' episode but now I think it might even be better than series 1. Not seen this yet as I don't have Sky but I'm hoping it will be another 'grower'.

It's on Sky1 now.

Tonight's was fucking brilliant.

And there's more next week - surely they're not all brand new?

"It stops me looking at hardcore pornography" :)

next week is the Mid Morning Matters stuff that Fosters put on Facebook.

Finished work earlier than expected so just got home in time for tonights. Very very good, loved the stuff with the audience.

I haven't seen any of the Mid Morning Matters episodes yet so that's fine by me.
