Don't think his behaviour sounds all that outlandish to be fair.

Not applying for jobs and having your mum do it for you is a bit weird though, who knows what the fuck interview you might end up going to? Everything else seems pretty par for an 18 year old though, living pretty much nocturnally and generally being a bit of an inconsiderate dick.

There was a clear divide in my mates at that sort of age between those of us that went to uni and those that got full time jobs, the latter starting to act like adults whilst the rest of us went backwards. Think a lot of it just comes down to responsibility, we didn't really have anything to worry about so lived a terrible lifestyle, soon caught up with the others when we'd graduated and got jobs though.

Kids are awesome. I am very fortunate in that my step daughter is an awesome human being and we get on great.

Having said that, parenting (or step parenting) a teenager doesn't come with a guide book. It can be a pretty thankless task.

Pretty much everyone I know who has kids gets a lot of joy out of it. I'm not built for it principally as a) I've never grown up properly myself, I'm 39 and still don't properly believe in myself as an adult and b) because of my condition, it's just not viable as there are too many days where I'm out of action, but that's just me.

My Da is in his 60s now and a stepfather to his missus' daughter. He loves it, probably more so as due to work he wasn't around that much when our kid and I were little.

I understand what you're saying. Give me your address you can have him come and live with you as you seem fine by it!:D

Being a step parent swings between the most thankless existence on earth and one of the greatest joys this dustball can give you. It’s a strange existence. I love my step kids every bit as much as my natural kids but they drive me demented just as much as I do them.

Well yes it can be usually reversed but that seems a strange state of affairs. I want to bang loads and have no risk of consequence and then have the good stuff later. Surely better to show responsibility in the earlier part of that piece?

Having the vasectomy in the first place would seem like someone trying to be responsible to me.

Right anyone have any knowledge of wage contributions and benefits etc. I've now got to the point where I qualify for jobseekers allowance, filled the details in and got a letter yesterday, yes I'm accepted, I'll get x amount per week but only till the January 2021 because 'your entitlement based on class 1 National Insurance Contributions has ran out' ? I've worked solidly for 37 years, never been out of work, never been sick and all my contributions have amounted to is 6 months of benefits (I'm hoping something will happen before 6 months but never the less ).
Surely this isn't right or am I misunderstanding it ?

JSA is only available for 6 months these days, If at the end of that you don't have a job then your entitlement moves to Universal Credit subject to meeting the criteria
