Swansea 2 Wolves 1 - FA Cup Replay Verdict Thread

Agree with some of the above on Hause I do think he was trying too hard, that slip early in the first half seemed to really bother him. He did improve in the 2nd half but I think he's aware of the level he needs to be at to get in the first team and it didn't help him.

I'm still convinced he can break in to the first team just a bad day at the office.

Couple of lovely bits of play from us in those BBC highlights. Even if we'd been utter crap for the other 89 minutes (which I doubt), it's so encouraging that the squad had got that ability in it. You're not going to see many moves like those outside the PL.

Looks like we created the better chances from those highlights and Leo certainly should have levelled. However, best not to judge a match on a highlights package, or worse still a radio commentary.

Talksport have been waxing lyrical about us since we took the lead in the league. Man City of the Championship. We played below par you can't expect them to blow smoke up our backside and make all the excuses for us.

Agreed. I didn't see the match. I was judging the couple of bits of lovely play from us in those BBC highlights.

MGW particularly played some lovely passes and the range of passing looked good. I'm not sure our stopping of crosses or Danny Batth positioning was particularly good for either Swansea goal.

I never thought I would be writing “We missed Ryan Bennett in that position”

Ryan fucking Bennett, who’d a thought it.

Anyone who gave everyone a clean slate (or didn't really know who the feck he was before)

Yeah, passing fine but MGW looks like he gets outmuscled in the middle for the build up to both goals though.

TBF I couldn't give a crap about either cup and glad we only have the league to worry about now.

Only thing I'm bothered about last night is I hope MGW and Hause get some more chances to shine and it doesn't set them back too much. Same with Mir I guess, hopefully just a bad night for all 3.

MGW will get chances.

We are going to be losing Neves and Saiss for 2 games each soon. Zero chance of them getting through the next 2 months without picking up a yellow card.

lets just write this down to experience - hopefully Nuno will have learned a bit about our 'reserves' now. lets hope we focus on perhaps bringing another RWB in, assuming Phil's out for the season.
didn't see the match obviously, but wondering whether Miranda could fill in if Coady were to get injured ?

If Neves and Saiss get suspended together it'll be a problem. But we've bought ourselves breathing room. 2 ppg thats all you need Max

In reality we probably don't even need 1.5PPG from here.

They made 8 changes, we made 9

Even so, Nordfeldt and Roberts are the only two players they fielded that aren't realistically close to or already in their first XI.

Come on Alan, both teams played a second 11 with a couple of exceptions. With 7 subs it still mean that teams are playing guys who are around the first 11, but they aren't first choice.

If you think there's a big gap in quality between the team they played yesterday and the one they played in the league over the weekend, more power to you, but I sure as heck don't see it.
