Summer 2022 Transfer Window

I’m pretty certain if MGW had played as much as Trincao he’d have produced more assists and goals. If we sell him and then sign Trincao for more the world has gone mad.

I beg to differ, but unfortunately I believe he’ll prove he’s good enough at another premier league team

Sadly I don't believe MGW is good enough.
Tbh, I don't know whether he'll cut it at Premier League level, I just dont think there's enough evidence either way, nowhere near enough minutes in the first team, difficult to tell in the small cameos he's mainly played for us.
Loads were calling for him to be sent out on loan to prove himself, imo he's done that and deserves another chance here.
The caveat is that, he wants to come back and also that we play in style that suits his attributes.

Not seen today's game but would MGW fit into how we set today? Even with Dendocker playing further back etc if it was say Neves, Den, Gibbs-White?
That would work but it feels as though we wouldn't be making the best of his abilities as Donk played as the right of the three forwards (which just didn't work on any level).

If it was Pod and MGW floating around behind Raul it may work.

The joy of our movement against Watford did play that way though so it's worth giving it a chance.

Could do the same with Neto and MGW too.

Neves and Moutinho playing where they play in 3-4-3 and MGW ahead would work really well imo.

We would have to play 4-2-3-1 with MGW in the centre of the three. Podence and Neto either side. I don't think we are likely to do that.

That’d be my preference too - maybe Boly and Kilman at the back.

For the life of me I cannot understand why anyone would consider Donk in a front three anyway cannot cross , cannot dribble, goal threat minimal ?

So...

Boly - Coady - Kilman

Ait Nouri - Neves - Moutinho - Jonny

Gibbs White

Raul and Podence

?

Not sure if MGW is good enough in all honesty. Hopefully after a good season he may come back and hit the ground running.

May well be a case of him not being here is enhancing his abilities. We will see when/if he returns

It's certainly worth finding out. He's been ace for SU.
