Summer 2022 Transfer Window

The difference between "a striker" and "any striker".
True.

But Guedes, Podence, Adama, Neto...these aren't options to play through the middle in this formation/style. They just aren't. We've already tried it with Guedes, I'd be amazed if anyone has been impressed with how that's panned out so far (he has looked ok in tiny parts where he actually plays in a three man attack, as a wide forward).

He could change the tactics but I won't hold out much hope of that. He's managed to change formation this season and still play exactly the same as last season.

From what I can see he was named in our PL squad and has been given number 33 so theoretically is an option
Think they have to go in by default if they're over 21 (by the PL's criteria), still here and you don't fill the 25 man squad. You can't just leave them out when there are spaces there.

We've named Ofosu-Ayeh and Jordan Graham in Premier League squads before, you or I had as much chance of playing.

Deutsch put it much more eloquently than I could.

It's academic anyway, Costa got 13 points and needed 15 for an automatic pass. He was 2% away from an additional 3 points for continental competitions. The equivalence of about 9 minutes of football, even I could argue that to a win against the FA nevermind a highly paid lawyer.

Where you seen that breakdown?

I take it that none of these young guys we signed and immediately shipped out on loan to Spain and Switzerland etc are capable of timing a run and flashing it into the net?
(HINT) Deutsch now flies off and runs up a list of all the guys we bought and farmed out for the future.
It seems like the future could be Saturday!

Based on the above we will win the appeal*and Jeff is in full bantz mode and asked Percy to wind you all up for 48 hours

*Please don't read my predictions on the Donck and Traore II deals please.

Has anyone credible linked us with Andy Carroll or are people just fretting over the thought of it?

Percy so credible but he has only said he is an option rather than in talks with

Really we should have spent the Guedes money on a wide player who could also do a decent job through the middle if needed?

People in this very forum have spent the past how many months moaning we need a striker for how Bruno plays, now suddenly we don't. Which is it?
Sorry, are you trying to argue that Andy Carroll is a suitable option?

I'm assuming you are because you seem to be suggesting he's a striker rather than a broken shell of a footballer?

Carroll isn't suitable in any way shape or form to play top level football anymore.

Lucas Ocampos went to Ajax on loan with an option at 16m Euros - that seems a good deal from what I have seen of him previously, plus in a squad which has very similar profile wide players, he would have added a very different element. Around a goal every 4 games from out wide seems a reasonable output as well.

Or on someone who's actually better than what we have?

I said this at the start of the season but Hwang can easily do a job as a 9, it's probably the best use of him.

You can take being an ‘option’ any way you want.

Technically I’m an option, and I’d suggest more likely to get a call than AC

Has anyone seen that goal that Campbell scored last night v Fulham?
Fucking hell!
If only we had a player like that on our books...

I was asking a question.

My opinion on Carroll is that he is what he's been for years, a menace in the air but not really much else.

He's probably a better option for most games than playing Podence as a false 9 but that's not saying much.
