Currently if Cundle goes on loan and Ronan leaves the drop off from Donk to Hodge is huge. Equally the drop from three FB to whoever is next in line is big. A cheap squad player to cover both makes sense, if we can find one.

It’s certainly a conundrum if we play 4-3-3. Donk isn’t good enough to really replace any of the 3 and Joao is getting on.

Vitinha was the player we needed for this and Lage doesn’t trust Cundle/ Ronan.

Having said that Lage has lined up 4-2-3-1 and may stick to that which means we only have Pod as a 10/ second striker.

That's 1 PL place. It's nothing in the grand scheme of things. Worth the insurance imo given the alternatives if 433 is how he wants to play. If It's 4231 then we are fine, but means more Podence - I won't see out the season
