Summer 2021 transfer window

Tbh it would basically just be a 442. Would definitely require a really mobile midfielder to go next to Ruben.
You could go for the sort of thing Pellegrini did at City and have your wingers coming narrow and the fullbacks pushing on to provide the width so it ends up more like 4222, but you need to make sure you've got the defensive security in central midfield to cover the fullbacks.

Next 10 years! He's 29 soon.

Gareth Southgate happens to be in the same minority as do all the Premier League managers of clubs better than Burnley that never sign him.
Shilton?
Seaman?
Jennings?
Zoff?

both Seaman and Shilton were similar age when they became England’s established number 1. Seaman was 32 at euro 96.
If you really want to ask yourself who we would want in goal next season Pope or Patricio if we are playing a back four? Patricio who is attached to his line with elastic and concedes 50% of the shots on target or Pope who is in the top three for shot stopping and has single handedly won a number of points for Burnley with MOTM performances .

I love the fact however, you quote Gareth Southgate whose myopic picking of Jordan Pickford is derided by many in football and on this forum. Thanks for that one. 😂😂

Mate, you're the one bigging up Nick Pope to a ridiculous degree. I don't think I'm the one that needs mocking.

You also think John Ruddy commands his area while we're at it.

Oh and Shilton and Seaman played at World Cups when they were really old...and cost England. So great example there.

So are actually stating on here that Nick Pope is not as good as Dino Zoff ?
Just want to make sure.

Woo hoo it’s a cyber pile on! Get in!
I didn’t bring up Pope. You did.
kenny- he may move to a top team abroad he’s capable enough.
Lycan-agreed great save from Pepe. Shows what he is capable of.
Paul- great example of Rui watching a cross come past two yards out and bring no where near it
Ruddy is more commanding of his six yard box than Rui. He is not the answer though. Hence why I dared , on the summer transfer thread , to suggest who we could upgrade in the summer. Patricio is on the list as is Coady as is Joao . Especially if we are going with a four.

He might be to be fair. But Dino Zoff is 79 this month.

Get off with your victim shite mate, don't talk nonsense if you don't want to be called out on it. I don't think many people would swap Rui for Nick Pope.

Well you did say Top 6 so natural presumption was this Country

He might well get the move but I seriously doubt it (do not take that comment as me saying Pope is shit or anything, just not in the same group as you on rating him). Maybe Rangers, do they class as a top team abroad?

Nonsense?
The keeper with the among best stats v the keeper with the worst this season?

you are Gareth Southgate and I claim my 5 pounds

Well Chris Woods went there and did well.
In all seriousness Pope would do well at Arsenal or Spurs. Leno is error prone and Lloris is not getting any younger.34 btw

I'd agree on Arsenal but they seem to be wary of signing decent keepers

did we sign nick pope or something why is he being discussed in a dozen threads

A member of the forum rates him highly and was taken back by the suggestion that others might not so he started a discussion on who would, given the choice, pick between him and our current No11

Agreed. I rate him better than Pope who is purely a shot stopper and not much else.
Well Pope just saved the first shot. Unfortunately palming it out to Jesus for a sitter. One nil to Deutsch!

If we sign anybody from Burnley I'd be eyeing up Tarkowski. He would be drastically overpriced though.

Agreed, Dunk would aswell, but he'd also be overpriced unless one of them get relegated. Be surprised if that's the type we go for, but I guess paying over the odds guarantees what you are getting versus someone from the Championship or abroad
