Summer 2021 transfer window

I haven't seen any quotes yet, but apparently Bruno's left one on Jeff in today's presser about recruitment

We haven't at all. The early signs are that he'll be able to get this squad performing and then hopefully (sigh) we can back him properly in January. Even then, I'm not worried as the coaching team has done some really good early work.

my only worry is if we continue to struggle to score and it starts affecting the players, but they seem pretty bullish so far.

I still can't get my head around both Shi and Bruno saying we wanted quality and/or didn't want squad fillers, whilst making desperate, deadline day bids for Kieffer fucking Moore. :ROFLMAO:
Thankfully, according to his presser today, Mick helped us out by putting too high a price on him.

I've always liked Mick!

The way Saïss reacted to De Gea’s double save certainly had a whiff of “oh we’re just cursed, aren’t we?” about it.

Have we heard this from anyone that we believe? Seems like the journos get a lot of stick, then when they say something we can get mad about suddenly it’s Gospel.

Mick McCarthy in his press conference today said that we didn't bid enough for him. From the BBC Live Page

McCarthy surprised Wolves didn't bid more for Moore

Cardiff City manager Mick McCarthy had his press conference today ahead of the Bluebirds' trip to Nottingham Forest and he spoke in detail about Wolves' interest in striker Kieffer Moore.
The Premier League side bid for the Wales striker before the transfer window shut, but McCarthy says Wolves never came close to meeting Cardiff's valuation.
"I'm delighted to keep him. I am sure he would have been interested in playing in the Premier League," McCarthy said.
You don't want to lose a player who scored 20 goals the season before.
"Of course he was interested in playing in the Premier League, but there was no offer that came in that was anywhere near the club's valuation.
"The value to me, the team and the players is immense, he's been fabulous for us."

Suppose that's fair enough, then.

Interesting though that the only explicit mention of the bid being from us comes from the reporter, not Mick himself.

That's pretty explicit.

Unless the only way you will believe it is if Mick spelt it out to you.

It could have been any desperate PL team who were scrambling round trying to do a last minute deal... Oh

I’m all for not jumping to conclusions but I think it’s safe to say that’s us being talked about.

There's 20 clubs in the Prem, it's not really explicit at all.

I struggle to believe that Moore is the sort of player that we would actually have any interest in at all, let alone have scouted him and said "yeah, chuck some money at that". That is what is tough for me to believe.
