Summer 2021 transfer window

If we want to become fixtures of European football, eventually we'll need to be paying players the sort of money that Moriba is asking for.

Just maybe not when they're still 19.

Huh. Not sure how I misremembered that so badly.

My memory is he had a very hot start on his loan, it shows him as 5 goals in 11 games but I am sure he got 3 or 4 of those in the first 3 or 4 games, he was garnering a lot of praise then on the shows I listen to.

When does Moutinhos contract run to, end of this season?

Get him in. Pay nearly what they are asking for. Spend the first year with Uncle Jorge getting in his ear about a move to Gestifute.

So a few weeks ago Bruno was saying he wanted 3/4 top signings, today he won't say how many more he wants.

So he's either been told not to say how many we're after or that we won't be getting 3/4. I'd be amazed if we got over 2 now. Got to say at this stage I'm very underwhelmed, what's the point in sacking the manager if your not going to give the new one his own players to work with.

Clearly Fosun didn't think Nuno was getting the best out of the players we already have.

Whether or not you agree with that is another story.

I don't think he was but that still doesn't mean we should be standing still and not looking to improve in every position if we can. Still over a week left so no panic from me but will be very pissed off if we don't improve the squad significantly before the window shuts.

It’s underwhelming even if Nuno was still here. Downgrade Neto to Trincao. On paper Rui to Sa a downgrade. 2 midfielders down on last seasons squad even though neither really played and Moutinho a year older. Then a development signing at CB.

Just got to hope there’s a plan.

When all is said and done there is no point getting wound up or frustrated by this transfer window. There is absolutely nothing that any of us can do to influence the outcome. Expressing positive or negative thoughts about a particular player / event is equally valid as it is pointless.

Unless you want to be able to say "at least I was right" when the dust settles, and when it does settle does it really matter who said what?

why have a transfer thread then?

Fully agree!

Perhaps Nuno walked because he knew this was the strategy. All very frustrating, you can't even say the window is still open, any business should've pretty much of concluded by now
