Summer 2021 transfer window

From my experience negative views have always been tolerated here when results are poor. Negative for the sake of being negative not so much…

Remind me, what results have we had since the season finished?

Generally get to the CL and then drop into the Europa and Last 16/QF's seems their general limit.

He has another 20 odd League appearances for them as well from his loan spell there

Ta Kenny, really hoping he is a late bloomer gem they have unearthed. Or at worst a keep stop gap whilst they readdress the position.

His stuff before playing 15 or so League games for Porto depends on how you view B teams. Obviously over here, B team is U23 football and not much proper experience gained but B teams in Europe play in the main leagues (bar top Division). So over 100 league appearances, just not top flight before becoming the back up keeper for Porto.

Did Lichens mention "since he season finished" ??

He said negative views are tolerated when results are poor.

So what results have we had that explain the unusual levels of tolerance to the recent negativity?

I can pretend Jose Sa is better than Rui Patricio if you like. I'm not that good an actor though.

Most people would classify the previous season as poor.
Not being snarky typically makes people more tolerable as well.

But the 'negativity' (which I have no problem with) isn't related to the previous season, or results, which you initially said were requirements for tolerance on here.

It's related to changes the club have made (and in some cases related to rumours), changes that haven't even had any material outcome yet in terms of performances, style or points.

Going into the season with low expectations might not be a bad thing

No problem with your opinions mate, or TT's. Just remarking on the shift in tolerance of such opinions.

Of course it is. If Wolves had just qualified for Europe, any negativity regarding changes would be met by people arguing that the club had earned the benefit of the doubt. Just as we all saw with Nuno and co for the first two thirds or so of this past season.
I just don’t think TWF has been a space where only happy thoughts and rainbows are allowed which is what I got from your original comment. It has always seemed to be mostly fair on the balance of things to me, credit and slack both due where they are due.

After reading that piece in the E&S I think we will have a decent keeper. The guy who was interviewed thinks we are getting a good one and as he as seen a lot more of him than most of us I have confidence in Sa's ability.

You're entitled to your opinion of the forum based on your own experiences, doesn't mean they're universal.

And if you think that if Nuno had performed better last season and then been axed that more people would be backing the club's judgement (!), then I really don't know what to say...the reality is that the yearning for Nuno and his core of players (even the under-performing ones) would obviously be even stronger?!?

Besides the point and clearly not what I’m saying

I've been watching us for 33 years, Nuno is the best manager I've ever seen us have by a mile, Rui is the best keeper I've ever seen us have, even better than Murray.

So of course there is going to be a reaction to us unilaterally chucking them both, especially as the replacements have sketchy (at best) CVs. It could work out and I could be worrying about nothing.

I've said before that it's the constant, repetitive, boring negatively that does my head. The point has been made, we get, let's move on to see what reality looks like

At some point though you have to move on.

Maybe give the new manager and players a chance before writing them off. If they're shit we'll all join along with you and you can slag them off to your heart's content. As well as questioning the owners.

I would say the lack of respect to the best manager we've had since Stan Cullis is more troublesome.

Do you mean lack of respect from Fosun or from fans?

I think everyone on here has been respectful of what he achieved. Having a big dip in his last season (a 1/4 of his time with us) is still worth factoring in though, and only fair if we're looking at Bruno and Sa's CV's in the cold light of day?
