Summer 2021 transfer window

He was 20 when he joined wolves and didn't look like a footballer, was rubbish at palace and done OK at the worst club in La Liga. He's got 6 in 16 starts so far, he's not next level but he's probably somewhere between Fabio and Raul, he wouldn't cost us a penny either as we own him!

I think I'd put this as option 2 behind option 1 of getting a wide player who is decent in the middle.

He scored 3 of those 6 in one game though. Its a tad like when Leon Clarke was top scorer in the champ but he had scored his 12 goals in just 4 different games or something daft!

3rd goal is a good finish though.

I would take a look at Mir in preseason before selling him, there's still a more than decent option there which our squad lacks in depth. I also think we should be comparing Silva to Raul not the other names touted - he does need to strengthen up, but I'd be happy to give him time. We'll get our money back on him (in due course, not right now) worst case, but that's not to say he looks full value yet. Just like we wouldn't have got the money back on Mir for his first couple of seasons.

Aside from Wolves I barely watch any Premier League, so I really can't comment on many players seriously. I do, however, watch a lot of La Liga and supporting Mir at a doomed Huesca this year has been some added interest. That said, there really is no way you would acually want him back if you'd seen him play. His main asset in La Liga is being strong and direct in a context where that is, if not rare, then at least wont to cause some disruption at times. Mostly he's pretty terrible. Whatever you make of WJ's efforts thus far he's been a far, far better forward than Mir, unfortunately.

He's only got a year left on his contract this Summer so any transfer fee would be negligible

Ah fair play, I can't say I've watched much of him beyond highlights

He'll bag a hat-trick this weekend as Huesca thump Sevilla and start their inexorable climb to mid table now I've said that... I should also say he's always stuck in a shift in what's been a losing team, so his effort is hard to fault.

I may have misunderstood you, but how does that work? So if he flops (which I presume is your worst case), someone will pay us £30-odd million for him? Are you sure??

I thought this was interesting in the athletic

Pedro Neto and Adama Traore, currently joint seventh in the Premier League list for most chances created from open play this season (31 each, level with Mohamed Salah)

If Mir wasn’t the answer before what has really changed with him to make him the answer now? If there is huge progress fair enough, but he hasn’t been making huge headlines. Cutrone and MGW also got binned off for a reason and neither has looked much improved on their return

They create them for Silva to miss. 😂😂

Yep, this narrative that because Adama has 0 assists he isn't creative is bollocks, unless those that think that also share that opinion with Neto?

He doesn't have assists because we can't score for shit! If we could Neto and Traore would be right up there in the assists stats. Neto particularly. It's no wonder Neto always turns away in disgust after someone spunks another golden chance in the box. He may as well lob it into the vegetable section of Asda...

Agreed, his 1st half cross against Leicester was superb, typically though we had no one anywhere near it.

Likewise Adama's cross that Jose didn't bother for and Neto missed (through good defending from Ricardo) was a superb ball too.

Makes me wonder if we'd be better off with a flat out 442 as we'd have 2 strikers in the box.

Problem is those 2 strikers haven't shown up yet. In fact no one with any intent to score has shown up recently. They are trying, but we just haven't got a clinical finisher playing right now, apart from maybe Neto. If only he was in the box for his own crosses (apart from the Adama one the other game).

No cheating - who has the highest xG of all our players this season?
