Linked with Corona from Porto - Mexican winger turned right back, Could be a doc replacement?

Yeah, he's decent. 27 years old, but I suppose our entire squad can't be made up of 21/22 year olds.

He's pretty much been a regular in the Porto side for 5 seasons now. Over 40 caps for Mexico too, so will no doubt be pally with Raul. Comfortable with both feet and can play in an advanced position or as a full back, so the RWB slot seems ideal for him.

I'd say that would be a top signing for someone like us.

He better wear Number 19 if he signs

He'd be an ace signing nobody would be able to get within two metres of him

I've heard he's peaked and on a downward curve, others seem to think he will peak again.

This is an all time low for me :)

He's an awesome player. Ridiculously skillful.

Best nickname in football as well. The owner of his Mexican team is the owner of the lager Tecate which is a main rival of Corona so the fans started calling him Tecatito.

We'll be fine if Bristol City win the play offs. Johnson won't adequately prepare and then attempt to shut him down when it's too late.

Unless this is a misquote or the bit where he says it's very flattering but I love being at Wolves and that's where I'm focused has been omitted then I think I'm at the please Raul just shut up stage

I think we have to accept this nowadays until we are in the same bracket as the six clubs interested. We aren't currently. I am not surprised at all. He would be a tough act to replace but that's where we are and why we have uncle Jorge. Traore is in the same bracket . If we get 100m plus for those two it's a helluva return. Hopefully we have the next wave of Portuguese wonderkids lined up aka Neto and Jota!

That's not sustainable though, Jota came to us in the Championship and Neto came to be part of the squad, but not the first 11. We aren't going to achieve a consistent Top 6 position by selling our best players and hoping to replace them with raw gems eg the Southampton model. I don't think that is our strategy anyway.

FWIW I don't think we'll sell Raul unless he goes full heads gone, it's just a bit disappointing, although I accept naïve, that he seems more open to it than I'd hope.

Raul hasn't said anything new there to be honest, it doesn't bother me at all. He's previously said how happy he is at Wolves and to be playing in europe and battling for a champions league place.

I find it very hard to believe that anyone will pay what we want for a 29 year old.

Raul has said it's good to be linked to big clubs, it means he's doing well.

If Real or someone like that came in for him and we get good money then I wouldn't begrudge him moving.

He's 29 and we need to think about who will be next in that position.

It's not sustainable until we are consistently challenging. That may be a reality in a few years.

I think it’s the same conversation as from a few weeks ago, and cut off the “very happy at wolves, chasing champions league” stuff.

Nothing new there imo - he’s pleased he’s getting attention because it means he’s playing well

When I said the other day about hating what Edwards symbolised it's that. I'm just happy to be here. Hearing players say I like been linked with these clubs is refreshing
He's motivated to do well for himself and so long as he does we'll do well out of it sporting or financially too.

I think as Wolves fans we've never (at least in the last forty years) have had to listen to/read these kind of interviews except for the odd prodigious talent like Keane or Lescott so we hear it now and it rankles a bit. Unlike Edwards and the like who were acutely aware that Wolves was the peak in their career.

UEFA want our Transfer window to close on the 6th October

"European football's governing body has asked its member associations to adopt the "harmonised" date, with a player registration deadline on 6 October."

That's so late.
