Summer 2019 Transfer Thread

BBC sink to new depths of stupidity by suggesting we might punt up £350K a week for Bale https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48332715

Where else - PSG, Bayern or Wolves?
Among the other clubs being spoken of as likely suitors, Bayern Munich are looking for a wide player but Bale does not fit the same age range as their first choice, Chelsea's Callum Hudson-Odoi. Paris St-Germain would probably need to sell one of their own big names to create space, meanwhile, and only one of the Milan clubs will qualify for next season's Champions League, and both are set for summer upheaval on the coaching front.

One other interesting option for Bale could be Wolves, who have made no secret of their ambition, and who have now qualified for next season's Europa League.

In the past, given their links to powerful agent Jorge Mendes, Wolves officials have suggested the game's biggest names would be on their radar if the opportunity arose.

After finishing seventh this season, a move for Bale would be a significant statement of intent.

I mean, it's nice to be associated with those kinds of teams and this kind of player... but let's be realistic :icon_lol:

I agree, we won’t sign him and Rodriguez from Real in one window!!

Doubt Hudson-Odoi really is Bayern's first choice now being as he probably won't play again this year.

Would love it if Everton got Mitro and we got Rondon. Don't rate Mitrovic at all. He has cost Fulham as much as he gained them.

Mitrovic isn't a very Marco Silva style player, surprised if they are after him. He is truly woeful at pressing and obviously is never going to run in behind. He's been playing Calvert-Lewin because of all the off the ball stuff he offers (he's actually a pretty good player, just doesn't score enough at the moment).

Wolves are among five Premier League teams chasing Portuguese international Andre Almeida.

The 28-year-old right back produced 12 assists in the league this season as his team Benfica won the title and could be available for around £10m.
Who’s keeping the list up to date?

According to the Telegraph, Leicester have cooled their interest in a permanent deal for Youri Tielemans.

Monaco want approximately £40 million for the midfielder, which would break the Foxes transfer record.
You know what to do, Jeff.

Loan - small chance, doubt it though, Sondergaard probably isn't ready for that step up yet and anyway he could do better than L1
Permanent - absolutely 0% chance

A lot depends on Ruddy. If Ruddy stays then Norris has to go out on loan at the very least. He can't waste another year and hope to get more than 10 seconds of game time.

Absolutely, get in there pronto. £40m is a steal. I mought they'd put the price up after his first season went so well.

Tielemans has looked superb and would be another whose character seems to fit and would give us another CM who is different in style and could work in a system with any of the others.

Yeah, serious wages to spend on a guy to lie on a treatment table.

Another vote for Tielemans here. Two or three times watched him for Leicester and thought "if only..." And at 22 he's exactly the sort of player Fosun like. Get it done, Jeff
