Summer 2016 Window Thread

In my game, Talisca is rated 84. He's improved since I bought him.

It means he's good. And it's defo 100% accurate. Sky should sack off the FM scoring and use FIFA'S.
I never doubted its accuracy, you know I trust you in such matters. :)

Pellegrini, AVB, Talisca, Crouch, Luis Alberto . . . different flavour of BS every day, it seems. It’s getting a bit embarrassing now. Perhaps this is what you have to endure when your owners are mega rich.

If we can sign Talisca and Alberto and put them in a midfield with Teixiera and Costa and someone who can tackle then we should dominate possession

So those 2 plus another striker and a CB and that will do till Jan for me

So you want 8 players in this summer window (not including Lonergan) and then more in Jan? Little bit unrealistic don't you think?

Embarrassing? What exactly is embarrassing?

2 loans, one crock and one ex-tippeligaen player, what I don't really get is what makes other people think we're rich? (I know the owners are rich but that's not to say we are). These are not Abramovic, Monsoon type owners.

Right?

No not at all

If these new owners want to get promotion that is what we need

Personally I think they're getting in some short term quality to sustain us through this season and then they go for promotion next year.

I've no doubt they will spend the money necessary but I have my doubts it will be this season, not enough time and they're inexperienced.

If that's the case (and it may well be) then if the Talisca deal is actually on it would be a complete waste of time and money.

If we buy Talisca now my theory is dead and buried, I'd be wrong.

But Talisca alone would not get us promoted with the rest of the squad we have.

I know, but they'd be spending alot of money and in doing so they know they need more to win promotion so more players would be expected in this window.

Buying Talisca and not go all in for promotion with additional players in makes very little sense.

Makes no sense - if you're going to spend £20m then 4 x £5m is far better, so if we sign Talisca you have to think that other players are going to follow

The fact that we appear to be taking these BS rumours seriously. Look at the pelters we dish out to others when they start believing they're more important than they really are. The only reason we might get Talisca is so that he can play for Liverpool; as for the rest, I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get me wrong; I'd love us to be in a position to attract players like this or better, and hopefully one day soon we will be, but we're nowhere near there yet.

OK enough of this

A few questions I ask

Is the squad already stronger in the fortnight that we have been fosun owned? Yes

Are they making their intentions to strengthen the squad further clear ? Yes

Will they be able to sign every target? No its a 2 way street

Will we be signing more this window? Likely yes

Do the new owners have a budget cap? Don't know but if there is one its a lot higher ceiling than it was a month ago!

The intent shown in a few weeks is greater than we showed all last season. Players are looking at us as a potential place to be. That was not the case a few weeks back. The futures bright. The futures not orange but gold

Exactly, unless we get him for a more reasonable price like €8-10m which is still decent since he hasn't apparently been very good since 2014 when he broke through. It would still make no sense really, if his intention is to stay here one year but it would be cheaper. :)

I'm not arguing this or even disagreeing with this, my thoughts were more directed to promotion this season or next season (as in really going for it). I'm not impatient or doubting the owner, I'm saying it makes sense not rushing things.

Why is that a problem so big you have to say 'enough of this'? :)

Another question: would we have been bloody close to relegation under the Morgan/Jackett model? On the evidence of the first two games, yes.
