No it isn't fair. That rule was never bought in to rule out goals where the striker gains no advantage. They are actively looking for reasons to rule out goals and it is spoiling the game.

What happens if they brought down raul and they blew a straight red and a penalty, would they then go back and disallow the penalty and revert the red card?
